For those of you too young to remember, Shirley Jones, in a previous life, was a huge Broadway and movie star. One of the finest voices ever, simply amazing.

She was in the original Broadway runs of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s ‘South Pacific’ and ‘Me and Juliet’ and then the lead in the film version of Oklahoma and Carousel. She won an Oscar for playing a prostitute in the film version of ‘Elmer Gantry’.

Wow, I was five or six and I looked forward to “The Partridge Family” and “The Brady Bunch” on Friday nights.
I had a Partridge family lunchbox, even...a metal one.

If I recall correctly she also played a lead in "The Music Man".

I knew the Andy Griffith show and other shows and have had favorites, so I know how important and enjoyable favorite TV series can be to people, but the list of shows and eras, even decades, that I missed out on entirely, or almost entirely except for having seen some reruns during a brief period of TV watching as a house guest and things, is pretty massive.
I am also surprised sometimes to learn that series from 20 years ago that I assumed had aged out, are still on the air.

Died suddenly is often a euphemism for suicide or drug overdose. It can also mean sudden heart failure as in an aneurism.

Yeah, I read that “he wasn’t into being part of a team, he was into telling people to shut up and do what he told them to”. Not what you’d want as a role model on TV.

52 is way to young! If I had died at 52 I would never made it to 67! I am thinking quiet a bit longer would be just fine, if this next Pres. election goes our way!

Who?
I suppose I should show sympathy and empathy for someone dying so young, but who is she and who is the Partridge Family?
