YouTuber Tim Linton, who had just installed a dash-cam on his vehicle the previous day, captured the incident on film.
From what we understand, it all started at the 35-second mark when the fifth-gen Camaro driver tried to squeeze in front of the truck from the right lane. Instead of just slowing down, the pickup accelerated and the two drivers started bickering on the road.
The Camaro driver tailgated the pickup, and the pickup driver responded by riding right next to the large truck on the right hand side blocking the other motorist's way. Moments later, the Chevy driver tried to overtake the pickup from the left shoulder but he / she lost control and the pickup crashed into it leading all three vehicles off the road.

Way back in drivers ed, so long ago it was still a free course in high school, the teacher called using the turn signal begging. Here in California it is required to use it prior to making a turn or lane change to show your intent. Too many idiots think it's their key to kingdom no matter what the conditions are. Still someone should have cooled their jets.
“I dont get the impression the PU would have held next to the truck under normal circumstances.”
True.
I think the PU made his point a bit long, but still, all the Camaro ever would have had to do was back off the PU tail and I figure the PU would have then passed the truck.
Camaro driver was drunk, as was apparent in he couldn’t judge his lane changes.
Signal indicate intent - they do not give you the right of way.
Exactly, it is common sense, which is lacking these days.
That's what Karma is for: those legalistic keepers of the letter of the law who thrive on screwing with people.
You saw it with your own two eyes. Persist in your ignorance if you will.
I’m curious where you live because your comments don’t make sense to me.
“And whats up with the tail light out in a new car? I see that a lot with GM cars.”
Its a plot. Government motors deliberately put out cars with broken tail lights to cause more road rage incidents which in turn gives obama the reasons he needs to declare martial law and take over the united states. ;-)
Obviously.
My theory was that they do it because the passing lane usually has fewer bumps and potholes.

Are you one of those bicyclists that rides out in the motor lane because the bicycle lane has pebbles in it?
Some guy driving a Camaro at 0.19 BAC was able to drive in close formation to a pick-up truck and a semi with little chance of causing an accident until he tried to use the median to pass.
What does that say about how incapacitating alcohol is to the driving task?
No. I don't ride a bicycle.
a few years ago, traveling just over 80 on the interstate in Wyoming I was passing a pickup truck...suddenly the pickup just moved right over in front of me because there was a truck in front of him....
it was all I could do to keep the car on the road but I was forced over onto the gravel...didn't dare punch the brakes too fast....gave him the horn but I don't even think he saw me at all....just oblivious....
If my comments do not make sense to you, then you should enroll in a drivers ed program as soon as possible. I would not be bold in saying that every manual used to obtain a drivers license from the Atlantic to Pacific says the same thing I said, but it phrased differently.
I'm sure the pickup was just not going to let the Camaro in at all...I think the semi sped up as well....
but I've seen a lot of these left lane drivers....won't budge no matter what....
It appears to me the pickup truck speeds up when the Camaro goes to pass him on the left. Watch the video and the PU starts to pull forward of the Big Rig when the Camaro makes his move. It is possible the trucker finally had enough and was slowing down but more likely the PU driver was continuing his “lesson.”
Either way both drivers were engaging in dangerous behavior and should be ticketed for such. Camaro clown gets an extra award for being drunk but then at least he has an excuse for driving like a jerk.
the Camaro signaled when he was just about on top of the semi and he signaled very late...then he tried to force his way ahead of the pickup....the pickup was lucky he didn’t get run into the ditch...
What the Camaro driver did was inexcusable, but those defending the PU driver are off base. The left lane is for passing. You can get a ticket for lingering in the left lane. As one other poster mentioned the PU driver is a classic passive/aggressive. He is a self-righteous A-hole that morally if not legally caused the accident. What he did was intentional. I hope his insurance company rejects his claim.
Well, it seems to have impaired his judgment in just the way that you would expect alcohol to. He got mad at a slight, dangerously tailgated behind another guy (who was also being a jerk), then tried to pass on the shoulder, couldn’t hold the line, and had to swerve into traffic, causing a big wreck. Then, to top it off, he fled the scene, making a felony into 2 or 3 large felonies. Which is what happens when you drink that much and can’t control yourself. Forget the motor skills, which were surely impaired. It’s the judgment, the same thing that makes 300 lb. girls look good at 2am.
Yes, I saw it with my own two eyes......Ignorance you appear to support in the Camaro trying to pass on the left shoulder against the cement barrier which caused the accident........
You have a twisted sense reality my FRiend......
