Offended by satire, incorrect costuming, and inappropriate feather placement, a group of about a dozen American Indian actors walked off the set of an Adam Sandler comedy Wednesday, according to a report in Indian Country. Apparently, the actors were shocked to learn that Indians would not be inoculated from satire in the Ridiculous Six Western spoof, and that a comedy film wasnt terribly interested in historical accuracy.
Things came to a head when one of the producers told one of the actors, If you guys are so sensitive, you should leave. [emphasis added]
Approximately a dozen Native actors and actresses, as well as the Native cultural advisor, left the set of Adam Sandlers newest film production, The Ridiculous Six, on Wednesday. The actors, who were primarily from the Navajo nation, left the set after the satirical westerns script repeatedly insulted native women and elders and grossly misrepresented Apache culture.
The examples of disrespect included Native womens names such as Beavers Breath and No Bra, an actress portraying an Apache woman squatting and urinating while smoking a peace pipe, and feathers inappropriately positioned on a teepee.
When I began doing this film, I had an uneasy feeling inside of me and I felt so conflicted, she said. I talked to a former instructor at Dartmouth and he told me to take this as finally experiencing stereotyping first hand. We talked to the producers about our concerns. They just told us, If you guys are so sensitive, you should leave. I was just standing there and got emotional and teary-eyed. I didnt want to cry but the feeling just came over me.
The key phrase is the examples of disrespect.
Huh?
Wut?

The headline here is they still consider Adam Sandler movies to constitute “comedy”.
Oxymoron.
Never bought into the noble Indian BS....Indians are no more noble than any other breed of human.
Well, to me that pretty much sums up any Adam Sandler movie. There really isn’t much funny about him unless you’re into buffoons.
That is the worst thing about Sandler movies. It’s not that they’re crude, vulgar, and offend people. It’s that they’re not funny. That’s the ultimate crime for any “comedy.”
Yes, both an ox and a moron.
Adam Sandler has made about 50 movies in which he plays an overgrown kid. I think it is a formula that works for this particular actor.
Bingo.

I say these folks graduated from the Democrat’s Whiner School, where everybody learns to manipulate public opinion through made-up offenses. Recent graduating classes include blacktivists, progressive college faculty and students, educators, fags, feminists, muslims, environmentalists, communists and, of course, all media.
So she reached adulthood in this bigoted, racist, white patriarchal society before she finally experienced stereotyping firsthand?
Reminds me of the Italians complaining about Mafia movies.
I believe I've identified the problem.......Academia strike again.
Even the left is getting sick of the left.
Who knew?
What were they expecting? A “sacred” Adam Sandler comedy?
Later
“There is humor, and then there is humor. Personally, I dont think Adam Sandler is funny, nor do I like any of his movies.”
I don’t think the point is weather or not you like Adam Sandler movies. Actually, I don’t think Adam Sandler has anything to do with the entire article.
I am about 30% Inuit and MiQ’Maw Indian, married to a Jew, and I still crack up at the picture of Mel Brooks with the Hebrew Characters on his War Bonnet.
And all these new Age idjits with their dream-catchers, when only one tribe (The Ojibwa) actually believed in them.
Ha Ha Ha.
It’s like...My Dear Brothers and Sisters...Get a LIFE! In the old days, Hollywood used Jewish and Italian Actors to play Indians, and who can forget John Wayne as GhenJis Khan! LOL!
Why would anyone want to hire Native Actors, if they walk off the set at the slightest perceived insult.
Hattie McDaniel was asked if she were embarrassed to play “Mammy” in Gone With The Wind.
She replied that she would rather get an Oscar for PLAYING a slave than to BE a slave.
hahaha
