Reds manager Bryan Price went on a profane rant during his daily pregame meeting with reporters Monday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
According to the Enquirer, Price was upset with the papers report Sunday that catcher Devin Mesoraco was not available to pinch-hit during Sundays loss to the Cardinals. During Mondays meeting, after television cameras had left and about 10 reporters remained in the visiting managers office at Milwaukees Miller Park, Price asked Enquirer reporter C. Trent Rosecrans why he reported the information.
Well, as a fan, Im wondering, heres a spot for Devin Mesoraco, why isnt he there? Rosecrans replied, according to his transcript.
According to Rosencrans unofficial tally, the five-minute, 34-second expletive-filled tirade that followed included 77 uses of the F word or a variant and 11 uses of a vulgar term for feces (two bovine, one equine).

Jim Leyland was always fun to watch. That guy can get his angry on.
The best was pausing his argument with the ump for God Bless America only to get right back in the ump’s face after it was over.

Elia still holds top spot as he hammered the fans with MF and CS on top up using the F’ng” as a noun and a verb and an adverb.

So what. I use three times that many just when my computer crashes. Good thing these guys weren't around when I first started managing teenagers! Now I'm not a big sports guy, but this kind of thing is special, why? And if it's so horrible, why did no one ever report on hitlary?

Our local sports talk station just played a few minutes of Price’s tirade, mostly bleeps but not that imaginative. I enjoy colorful invective, but Brian needs a thesaurus for next time.

I'm not surprised because that was back in the day when the Cubs were really awful and fans were there more for the experience than to root for a winning team. Thank God the Ricketts family said in no uncertain terms we're going to have a winning culture, hence the massive renovations to Wrigley Field to make it a lot more enticing to free agent players.

25 years of coaching hs baseball and I never had to use that language to get a point across.
I never understood why some hs coaches think it is OK, if you can't talk that way in class why would it be OK on the field?

Tommy Lasagna could outdo that.
In-Laws had season tix four rows behind the home dugout in San Diego. I’d get to see many a game up close and personal. It was amazing how clearly one could hear the opposing team’s manager and Tommy Lasagna, in particular, was fond of that “bomb” :)
