Kristen Lindsey, 31, of Brenham posted a photo holding up what she described as a dead feral tomcat shot in Austin County, but there are reports since that it was a neighborhood family pet named Tiger.
...
The photo has since been removed and her Facebook account canceled, although copies have widely circulated on the Internet. Her original post with the photo read: "My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it's head! Vet of the year award ... Gladly accepted," KWTX-TV reported.
Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes said deputies were investigating the incident and would be talking with prosecutors about the possibility of charges.
"This kind of stuff shouldn't happen in our society," Brandes said. "It's a very sad thing. Hopefully we will get to the bottom of it and get the truth, 100 percent truth, and get it to the DA and put it in his hands if it needs to go any further."
Lindsey planned to meet with authorities next week, accompanied by an attorney, Houston TV station KTRK reported.

How sad. The poor older couple who owned this poor cat must be devastated.
Dogs are allowed to roam free in my town, except on trash day.
Yeah that!
First of all, it’s unclear that the cat was feral. Secondly, as someone who feeds 2 feral cats, the ASPCA traps them, neuters/spays them and releases them to homeowners to feed and shelter them. That is the way to go - not horribly killing one. By a vet!
Why didn’t you just spay and neuter them? Surely, someone would have come out and trapped them for you.
The young twit will need to find a new career. Just stupid.
We have cats and lots and lots of birds and animals around the house. I don’t see the linkage between a well fed pet and a feral cat.
I don’t get these kids. Especially the girls that want to be zena the warrior princess or something. Why can’t they be girls and young ladies instead of trying to grow a pair?
No collar no tags.
It didn’t always work that way in those days. It was not a huge number of cats.
Ranch and country life is/was different.
Our Vet drove 60 miles to visit and I don’t think he spayed cats.
I would think you should be more concerned with what is happening with the Pythons and the Nile Monitor Lizards that are decimating wildlife here in America and let the Australians worry about their pussy problem themselves.
Had a cat that always stayed in the house...damn thing lived 19years.
Outdoor (U.S.) cats kill between 1.4 billion and 3.7 billion birds a year, study says
You can view it on Daily Mail. She is one sick person.
Is that a problem?
Again, tell the vet lady she can come and stay with me for a couple of weeks. I will protect her from unwarranted attacks and the vile attitude of those who think cats are human even when they’re damaging other peoples’ property and/or harming animals not on their own property. Have her call me at BR-549.
All vets spay and neuter. I realize it might be different on ranches and that ferals become real predators. But the idea of a vet killing a cat? Don’t like it and she’s already been fired.
I just discovered a feral near my home today - an obviously kicked out cat. I’ll fed her - she was pretty.
Shoot, shovel and shut up.
Amazing how many Freepers believe in the right of their pet to crap and spray on other peoples’ property.
That’s a lie. I feed TONS of homeless community cats for many years.. and they aren’t killing things because they are being fed healthy food. Only once have I see a dead RAT head...a gift to me i suppose.
