NOVATO (CBS SF) After George Lucas ran into a buzzsaw of opposition from his wealthy Marin County neighbors when he tried to expand his Skywalker Ranch studio, the filmmaker might be getting some payback with plans for one of the largest affordable housing projects in the Bay Area.

Slum Wars!
“The second picture from the bottom. Those overlook the Henry Hudson Parkway and the Hudson River. They were not the projects.”
Correct. That is either Peter Cooper Village or Stuyvesant Town. However, they abut the FDR Drive and overlook the East River.
George’s neighbors probably have enough money and clout to put a stop to this scheme too.
The last photo shows the demolition of the Pruitt-Igoe (Missouri) apartments, built by Liberals to house the Poor. They became so crime-ridden and scary, the city chose to soon dynamite them. Good lesson.
Luc makes hundreds of sleezy porno movies. Raunchy. Among the filthiest ones available. He could just reserve the apartments for his “ actors” and they wouldn’t
have to burn up precious fuel commuting to “work” — thus asserting his “evvironmental credentials.
?
It depends, because a lot of them have high water table problems which cause their septic systems to make it real smelly around their homes. That bunch are clamoring for expansion of the sewage treatment plant. They are not loved by the County government (funny, that) and I suspect its approval of the plant’s expansion will be conditioned on building some of Lucas’ project.
Yes, we had evil day dreams like that for a certain person (may he die of a dread disease and burn in hell).
That first pic looks like the Balat neighborhood in the old city Center in Jeddah. Notice the old fashioned wooden window covers.
In the early 1970’s we lived on Lucas Valley for 3 miserable years.
The area was beautiful. We moved from the East coast and had no idea about the liberals controlling the area.
We had several strikes against us as Republicans, Christians, workers, former Navy guyNavy wife as starters. Flying the American flag even the 4th got negative remarks from a$$hole
Neighbors.
As you noted, Marin Moronites are vocal liberals telling others how to live, what to eat or not to eat.
Many lawyers pushing low income housing in the Bay area live in marvelous Marin.
I hope they live near or off Lucas Valley Road.
Yep. I don’t buy the Socialist Agenda of cramming us all into mile-high apartments in the city, or tiny shoe boxes in the suburbs...so we can be watched, pigeonholed and controlled.
Americans need to stop falling for this cr@p!
LOL! And they’ll probably fly private jet someplace to be presented with a bogus humanitarian award. Clueless.
That joke is funny...never heard it before (and I’ve lived on the Peninsula almost 35 years).
Poor Waldo is about to get the heave-ho. A proposal to rename the rainbow-striped Waldo Tunnel as the Robin Williams cleared a state assembly committee two weeks ago.
William Waldo was a California politician who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1853. Some things never change — naming a landmark for an UNSUCCESSFUL OBSCURE politician from 160 years ago! “Who’s Waldo?”
Being Marin County, I’m flabbergasted it isn’t being renamed the “Obama Hole.” 74.3% for Obunghole in 2012.
Yes, I’ve seen that before. He sure has a lot of booze in his kitchen, LOL!
I understand the concept - it’s still not for me, and with Government wanting to oversee these ‘homes’ you know where THAT is going to lead!
Working class people and people of color are used as a weapon of revenge by him simply by their moving to the area?
This speaks volumes about how he truly thinks and it goes for the media as well.
Astute observation. This is the real take-away from this story. The Left (in society and in the media) are hypocrites.
“Beauregarde Burnside “
Wrong two Generals. You want ‘Hooker’.
Indeed. "The #1 question is the #2 question." LOL!
