Okay Freepers. Time to play Freeper MD.
For three weeks my hip has been killing me. left side.
Doesn't hurt when I jabbed with my thumb.
Has been hurting when I lay on it.
The last three days, it has been hurting when I sit.
My vainglorius head is getting bigger but, I discern no deformation or growth in the area of pain.
As I sit here typing this out, it is throbbing.
Get to guessing.
Bursitis? Just the fun of being a bit over 50? Hypochondriac? I'm no longer hip?
My guess it bursitis. I am pretty flexible. Can still nearly do the splits, though not as well I did when worked out all the time and I put my palms on the floor and go further just to show off.
Male 51 Dashing looks Vain
Get on with it...
Just curious if y'all have any experience and it turned out to be something a cortisone shot took care of.
(((donning Nymex suit)))
No activities I can think of
Doesn’t hurt when I walk. I’ve done the quick side to side exceicises and pretended I was running tires. Nothing
Just hurts sitting and only when I get up from sitting, as well lying on it.
I take Naproxin everyday to deal with the headaches from grinding my teeth and I do have custom night guards but, not related to my hip. I think.
Other than than that a broken ulna, I’m fine.
Asian masseuse? Might work...
So kewel the things they can do...
I’m a shoe expert and own over two hundred pair.
I have only crappy fitting pair. I wear em once a year for Chrkstmas but, they were a steal at $300 bucks, normally $1,500. Only real problem is they cut into my heel but, I have blister pads, so no real problem.
Probably nothing and needs some TLC stretching or it’s transient and will abate.
If I’m not posting in a few weeks, it probably means I’m dead.
White Lightning, Grannee!
have you tried using a foam roller on your hip area, using your bodies own weight as a massage?
I can not even begin to phatom or imagine the excruciating pain you must have been in busting a tendon ,,, ouch !
Yes, my situation has been life long...
But, was reading Isaiah chapter 48 last night....
In there God said, in the furnace of affliction I have chosen thee...
We fellowship with Christ in our afflictions, and he fellowships with us in our afflictions...
Even if I were to tell you what has happen to me in the last year and half you would need a whole box of Kleenex tissues....
But for some reason, my whole life pains and struggles, and what has happened to me in the last 1 1/2 year, I am still here, endured much.
Still my faith, no matter how weak it is now, it is still intact.
I have been through the crucible, refined like Gold.
What is considered pain, struggles, suffering, disappointments, heart aches, hell on earth, God will bring it forth as fine Gold.
Once God brings me through all of this, I will have a very compelling testimony, one heck of a testimony.
A well seasoned battle tested saint of God.....
God’s tests are not to destroy us, God’s tests are to refine you and to prove you that you are the real deal...
Do not get discouraged when God is testing you, God isn’t finished with all of us yet.....
I know that’s hard to believe in the mist of his testing or our suffering, but without knowing that God is bringing forth something good, it all seems all in futility for those who are non believers.
Given my present condition, it seems like that would hurt.
I had a tonsillectomy when I was five but that’s because I was deaf and they put tubes in my ears.
Maybe it’s a complication and it took 45 years to show up.
Stop the caffeine for a day or two. I’m 47 and have that sometimes on the right side.
Inflammation is exacerbated by caffeine or alcohol dehydration. Cool it for a day and take a couple Advil. imo
Well, don’t overdue it. LOL
Say, this could get interesting! ;)
Funny. I have a home in Mexico next to his.
Andy is just the nicest guy. Says he talks with Elvis on occasion but, refuses to introduce us.
Wish he would.
Sheesh, that’s too bad about Elvis.
The least Andy could do is be neighborly and bake you some cookies.
I would close my pocketknife before I put it in my pocket.
Perhaps fibromyalgia? I’d see a doctor if I were you. There are all kinds of things that can cause pain, but they all have the same symptoms. A competent physician has both knowledge and experience, PLUS the ability to prescribe better medications than you can get over-the-counter. I don’t advise running to the doctor every time one gets a little pain, but major, persistent pain is something else.
Yep! My wife at during pregnancy went to this expert on women's problems (hips, backs, etc.). He soon figured out that the pregnancy wasn't the root of the problem, but the feet. So he morphed into a foot guy, and takes care of all my aches and pains too. The guy is amazing! He told me 95% of people have poor foot support.
My wife got braces when our kids did (the orthodontist did it for free!). Anyway, once she got her braces her hip quit giving her problems. Once she got the braces off, the hip problems came back, but not as bad. She mentioned that to the doc.
He smiled and said “I know. But don't tell anybody I said that. They'll think you are crazy, and they'll try to run me out of my profession. Again.”
Turns out he had figured that out awhile ago, and worked with an orthodondist to make jaw braces to get rid of back and hip pain. He wrote a paper about it and was almost run out of business.
That's why you need a new bed. To soft of beds throw your body out of whack.
“...from grinding my teeth and I do have custom night guards but, not related to my hip. I think.”
Heh. I posted #178 before reading this. Hmmmm. Trouble is, you might have a hard time finding someone to believe you. I could pm my doctor info (Seattle area) if you want. Although I have asked him of other people that use his philosophy in other parts of the country for relatives, and he just laughs.
And I told him “I laugh too every time you run your goofy tests. They work - but I still chuckle.”
I tell people about him, and they all say “Oh I have a doctor....”
One of our neighbors that had chronic debilitating pain for years did say “it couldn’t hurt” and gave him a try.
After the first session she felt better. After a few months she was able to go back to work after years of not being able to. Pretty amazing. And just by manipulating the joints and orthotics.
