FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) - Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has been found guilty of first-degree murder. He has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
A Massachusetts jury on Wednesday found Hernandez killed Odin Lloyd on June 17, 2013. Lloyd was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee. He was found shot six times in an industrial park less than a mile from Hernandez's home.
At the time, Hernandez had a $40 million contract with the Patriots.
Hernandez's lawyer acknowledged during closing arguments that he was there when Lloyd was killed. But he pinned the shooting on Hernandez's two friends, saying his client was a 23-year-old kid who didn't know what to do.
Prosecutors said Hernandez planned the killing and then helped cover it up

Both of my parents are of Italian ancestry, and none of my relatives on either side have ever been in jail, much less prison.

He done plenty of time in a street gang and he's a big, strong guy very used to using violence against others. What type of people do you think these prison gangs recruit? Heck, he may already be a member from the pre-trial time he's done.

Actually, a number of so-called “Hispanics” actually are white. It depends on their ancestry. If those relatives who came over from Spain did not intermarry with the local Amerindians, then their descendants are just as white as descendants of English settlers who married whites only. The problem with Hispanics is that most of the original whites did intermarry with the local population and it’s the touch, often a lot more than a touch, of Amerindian, that makes them “Hispanic” for the purposes of the AA bean counters.

P.S.: Some of those Italian relatives on my father’s side were born in, and lived their lives, in western Pennsylvania.

Hispanics are catalogued as white when they commit crimes, but they're "hispanic" when they are victims of crimes. No joke.
