Nearly 1 million people in the U.S. bought an Apple Watch on the first day of preorders, according to data company Slice Intelligence.
Slice found that that 957,000 Americans preordered the smartwatch on Friday's launch. Those customers won't be getting the actual smartwatch until April 24 at the earliest when Apple starts shipping them.
Compared to the 720,000 Android Wear devices sold in 2014, Apple had a great turnout for just one day.
"Customers have been giving us great feedback and orders have been great, as well," CEO Tim Cook told CNBC.
Slice gathered its data from a panel of 2 million online shoppers. The data shows that 62% of consumers purchased the Apple Watch Sport, which is the cheapest variant at $328.83. Slice reported that each buyer ordered an average of 1.3 watches, spending $503.83 per device.

not interested, looks stupid, plus, why would I want to support a company that promotes sodomy?
How is that fallout shelter working out for you? If you stop supporting every company that doesn’t promote sodomy, you would stay home without electricity, TV, Internet, food, books, etc. You literally would have to stay in a blank room and sit on a wooden floor (hopefully you could AT LEAST find a company that sells particle board so you could sit on it. I know it is disgusting but that is truly reality in todays sick world.
Anyone with a partially open mind will spend a few minutes watching the videos at Apple.com and see what makes this device special. If you own an iPhone the iWatch provides a way to monitor your exercise habits. Imagine the watch letting you know to get up and stand for a few minutes (so you’re off your butt) or the watch letting you know if you’ve met your goal to burn 140 calories before you stop exercising. The potential for this device to act as a personal trainer is worth the price of the watch if that was the only thing it did. If you have a heart issue, age issue, exercise issue, this watch will be of great benefit. But then that’s just my take on it at the moment. Knowing Apple’s penchant for developing a product that exceeds expectations, the iWatch is likely to develop into something an average person will find desirable.
As far as I am aware Samsung doesn’t have a sodomite CEO, and doesn’t actively promote sodomy.
