Greetings to all. Sorry to be late, but I have been out of town and just got home. Hubby had emergency surgery, and is doing well now that we are home. I had no computer access while there.
Earlier in the week we had tornadoes hit just a couple of miles north of us and about a mile south of us. Lots of damage done to businesses on our main street and the school attended by my grand daughter.
We were lucky just a bunch of smaller limbs laying around the yard. I was not able to get any gardening done at all this past week - not much of anything else either. I am zonked from trying to sleep in a chair the last several nights, so I'll catch up later tomorrow.
Hope all is well. Have a great weekend. God Bless.

Oh my, God Bless for recovery and some peace.
I am in Connecticut and the Home Depot and Lowes are filled with tomato plants and herbs. Good golly we still have snow on the ground in some areas.
Have to say the tomato plants looked beautiful. Have to wait.

The raspberries and gooseberry I planted last year are beginning to grow like crazy. The new raspberries and gooseberries I planted this spring are still just sticks in the ground which I am eagerly looking for life from. And the strawberries I ordered came out of dormancy early so I had to plant them in trays I can move inside on cold nights. Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be able to transplant them to a permanent home.

Question:
Should I buy Crabgrass + feed or just go for the weed and feed for my lawn (I have no idea if I have crabgrass or not). I live in central Ohio.

Our local Ace has racks of potted plants out in front. The tomatoes froze few nights ago. Mid to late May is our ‘last frost’ date, but it has been such a mild Winter & Spring here that the stores are trying to push the season. So far, I have resisted the urge.

I want to pass on the results of a small comparison test that I’m running- a couple of weeks ago, I transplanted some 4 inch peppers and tomatoes into 1.63 gal pots, two gypsy peppers and two San Marzano tomatoes. I planted one of each in Miracle Grow Potting Mix (the non-water saving type) and the other two in Carl Pool Vital Earth Ultra Blend. The two plants in the Carl Pool soil are at least 1.5 times the size of Miracle Grow plants, and they are side by side, watered the same, etc. I’m in Central TX, and I bought the Carl Pool blend at Green and Growing nursery in Pflugerville, TX, two cubic feet for $11.53, about the same price as the MG at Wally World.
