A growing body of research highlights the importance of how kids feel and how they manage those feelings, or not. Emotions drive attention, learning, memory, and decision-making. They affect relationships and psychological well-being. Learning to handle emotions well is especially important in adolescence, a time when neural networks are being sculpted that will influence behavior patterns for life.

Oh great. Maybe we should lower the voting age so we can pander to these needs too. Just a thought for you guys!

Stressed? by what? Being the most comfy, spoiled generation in history?

“American Teens Are Stressed and Bored. It’s Time To Talk About Feelings.”

I’m sure “microaggressions” have to fit in there somewhere.

This is most likely why they push homosexuality on
them so hard then.

I propose reintroducing child labour as a means of addressing their boredom.

All they have to do is get rid of the “smart” phone and the “stress” and “bored” will go away. It’s not rocket science.

If they are bored, they should get busy doing something, instead of talking. An accomplishment will do wonders for self esteem.

Like doing something cool, posting it on Facebook and seeing if they can get a ton of likes? Heck, my daughter and her friends are full of posting stuff nonstop on Facebook. Their self esteem is probably really good.

If parents want to know why their kids are stressed and bored, the parents need to look in the mirror. They let the kids sit around doing nothing, they pamper the kids, they don’t challenge the kids. They don’t require anything of the kids — like work — that would give the kids a sense of self-worth.

When my kids would tell me they were bored, I told them, maybe it's you....maybe your boring.

They stopped complaining about that.

I would say the things they post on AssBook take minutes to accomplish. Build a car during the summer is an accomplishment.

They’re stressed because they focus on stupid crap, and they’re bored because nothing taught in school is interesting. They don’t read, they don’t go outside, they just get high, drunk, or sleep with whatever moves.

I'd be stressed too if all my teachers were trying to convince me to be gay, and I had zero career prospects to look forward to and I was facing the prospect of borrowing $100K so I could go to college to study Afro Gay History or some such nonsense.

You just nailed my personal theory for the rise in the number of fat chicks. Just saying.

They need to get some hobbies.

Learn to cook, build things, repair things. It is fun and useful later in life.

It’s my theory, too. Young women have observed that young men will screw anything with a pulse, so why make an effort beyond that? Why not get a bunch of ugly tattoos, weigh 300 lbs., and wander around in your pajamas in public?
