Another call to arrest climate “deniers”
WUWT ^ | 4/7/2015 | Eric Worral

Posted on 04/07/2015 9:18:36 AM PDT by Signalman

Adam Weinstein, of the Gawker, has added his voice to the growing list of greens, who demand a brutal authoritarian response to the vexing problem of people who have a different opinion.

According to Weinstein;

Man-made climate change happens. Man-made climate change kills a lot of people. It’s going to kill a lot more. We have laws on the books to punish anyone whose lies contribute to people’s deaths. It’s time to punish the climate-change liars.

This is an argument that’s just being discussed seriously in some circles. It was laid out earlier this month, with all the appropriate caveats, by Lawrence Torcello, a philosophy professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Weinstein bases his claim that man made climate change “kills a lot of people” on a WHO page, which estimates that 150,000 people per annum are dying because of climate related extreme weather and other problems, such as crop failure.

However, this claim simply doesn’t stand up to scrutiny. Even the IPCC has failed to establish a link between CO2 and extreme weather. In addition, the rise in CO2 has so far been strongly beneficial for crop yields – satellites have detected a substantial greening of the planet, thanks largely to the fertilisation effect of the rise in atmospheric CO2.

In recent years we have all seen a worrying surge of hate speech against climate skeptics, and a disturbing level of political acquiescence in the face of murderous fantasy and intolerance. These incidents include a government sponsored celebration of climate murder in a theatre production, MSM cartoons celebrating political violence, more cartoons, proposals for soviet style forced “reeducation”, calls for the death penalty, calls for “deniers” to be jailed, wishes for divine retribution against “deniers”, the gruesome 10:10 video fantasy about murdering the children of “deniers”, and prominent environmentalist David Suzuki’s repeated calls for “deniers” to be jailed, here, and here. There have been far too many threats against the liberty and lives of ordinary people, whose crime against humanity is to believe that 18 years with no change in global temperature, might be an indication that the climate “crisis” has been exaggerated.

It’s obvious that this has now become a religion.

Burning at the Stake comes to mind.

Be willing to die to defend your firearms. Because if you let them be taken you will surely die.

There's another issue though: scientists who have measured the atmospheric temperatures of every planet in the Solar System note that Mars and the upper atmosphere of the gas giant planets all have warmed in the last 70 years. That tells me either the Sun's energy output has changed or some radiation from outside the Solar System is coming in and warming the planets. And that type of atmospheric heating is far bigger than any human activity.

It’s obvious that this has now become a religion. To deny the existence of man-made global warming is now heresy.

The lefts religion is political correctness, because it gives them ultimate power over minds, bodies, and souls. Political correctness, if allowed to grow any further, will make the anti-christ our God by force.

When the 10 commandments were removed from the public square, their opposites moved in to fill the void. Nature abhors a vacuum.
We tried to warn those who weren't "religious" but were of sound mind, but they didn't understand the threat and didn't understand the value of the commandments.

Read the 10 Commandments. Now read the rules of political correctness. One is pro-life and peace, the other pro-sin and chaos.
One is good - the other evil. This is the prophesied war between good and evil. One side trying to save life and the immortal soul, and the other trying to destroy life and damn the soul.

The lie about global warming is just one chapter in the unholy book of PC.

Lately I have been reading about mass communist attrocities. It seems like the US is getting closer to that by the day - with liberals leading then charge.

We have laws on the books to punish anyone whose lies contribute to people’s deaths.

Assuming this is true, Adam, there is still the matter of the burden of proof. You would need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that people are lying, as opposed to, say, simply disagreeing with you.

Many reasonable people doubt the faulty "science" behind your religion; so it is not surprising that you want to resort to Nazi/Inquisition-like tactics to silence your critics.

Yes, we do, but the tricky part is you have to actually prove causation. You ran over that guy, therefore you killed him - that sort of thing. Since there is no science behind the global warming hoax, that whole causation linkage could get a bit hard to show.

I seem to forget... which step is it in the Scientific Method that arrests are made? Was it: Hypothesis, Experiment, Analysis, Conclusion, Report, Peer Review, Condemn Opposition, Incarceration, Declaration of New Facts, Ignore Experiments that Disprove your Theory, Grant Application, Slander/Libel of Alternate Theories, and then Retirement? So confusing. Science is hard.
