The guys is a putz but I think a reasonable question is why they drive the truck there and why it takes more than one man to shop? Couldn’t one man just go with a list in a different vehicle.
If there was a fire or other emergency it would seem much more efficient to have the truck and all but one man (who is shopping) at the station and ready to go. The man shopping could simply be contacted and meet them.
i wouldn’t needle firefighters over shaving a few pennies on where they shop or how they got there.
my only complaint would be the same complaint for all public employees.
you can either make better then average money in an extremely stable job and a PRIVATE pension plan or you can make below average pay in an extremely stable job with a PUBLIC pension plan.

The only, I don’t think you could call it an argument, more of a statement, I have made on seeing uniformed firemen shopping for food, was to the effect of:
“Dang, that’s a lot of habañeros (very hot peppers). Are you guys going to eat all of them?”

The strangest thing I pick up from this thread is the number of folks that don’t appreciate first responders. Like I said...strange.
As far as the video in the OP goes...this jackwagon needs to go to the city “powers that be” and get things changed if that is how he feels. Don’t shout at a bunch of firefighters on the street. That’s goofy.
Maybe the pay is good in some parts of the country. Maybe there are pensions that are comfy. But I don’t believe any one of us don’t go to a company (public or private) with good pay and good bennies.
If people are po’d...change it at a political level.
