And who paid the hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay for this kid’s transplant and after care?

Am I mean to ask if the heart is now available for transplant into someone more deserving?

I have WSB's app on my phone and have been listening all morning. It seems as if this kid's been a worthless punk for some time and,as a result, the hospital didn't want to give him one. But,I suspect, after cries of "racism" he got one.
My cousin died while waiting for a heart/lung transplant. She was an outstanding woman.Respectable, decent, law abiding, loved by all who knew her.
So it can be assumed that a person with similar traits...male,female,black,white,young,old....was denied that heart so a filthy punk could kill it while fleeing the cops.
Nauseating.

Ah yes
the ubiquitous "second chance". In the days when I taught the children who flocked to our district when it became a "wonderful" school of choice, the most frequent refrain I heard daily was the plaintiff wail of "Caint I jes gets a secon chaince?!!" or "But you never gave me a chaince!" implying they were always entitled to one free pass every time they acted out or messed up before they got written up, or whatever the consequence happened to be.
So I chuckled when at the end of the article it said he was so pleased he was going to get his second chance.

Just think how different this story could have been...
Heart transplant recipient accused of murder during home invasion robbery gone wrong. Defense attorneys are seeking specialized medical care for youth clinging to life after a dramatic police chase and shootout. “This is a young teen who had constantly had to justify his existence to doubting authorities during his short life, and were it not for the loud social outcry, doctors would have let this boy die...”

How about the rich and famous celebrities, the drug addicts and alcoholics. A good point....David Crosby (Crosby,Still & Nash) comes quickly to mind.Didn't know about John Phillips.
Again...nauseating.

I guess even a ‘change of heart’ didn’t change his heart.

Yet most of theses celebrities have not been career criminals & have (hopefully some) financial income and contributed positively to the world. Not street thugs that rob & intentionally harm people.
Iz dat rasissst?
Don’t insurance cos do the same when analyzing future income before paying out?

..and the boy's family, who said he had been stereotyped as a troubled teen Don't you just hate it when stereotypes turn out to be true?
To: dennisw
The transplant allowed him to live a second chance. Get a second chance and do things I want to do, he said.Rob people.

My wife was stuck in the traffic from this fiasco for 2 hours because of this POS THUG!
Glad he’s dead!
I just wish somebody actually worthy received the transplant instead of this worthless feral scum.
To: cripplecreek
Well. If his body wasn’t riddled with drugs and alcohol there could be quite a few parts that can be recycled from dis yute. But would the family allow his organs to be harvested for others??? Sadly, I suspect not.

Most stereotypes are true or mostly true. Not all the time obliviously but often enough.

After that huge investment in this wayward yoof....Yes the doctors would do their best to keep him alive if he murdered someone and got severely injured in the process. The docs don’t want to bury this perfectly good transplanted ticker this yoof GOT FOR FREE as in 100% free medical attention. No way did his idiot family pay a dime.
