Only 5% of the state is still in severe drought after this spring’s rain. We have been in drought for several years.

Ooh, that’s a great one, too, Meg!
So thankful for the rain we’ve had. We like to go to Canyon Lake...it’s up 7’, from being 10’ low! Hallelujah!
Have a good weekend. Are you going to see family over the long weekend?
Stay safe and dry.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list
Chipmunk Chatter
I had laid out some landscape netting in my yard, upon which I was going to spread decorative stones. As I was preparing to finish the job, I noticed a chipmunk tangled up in the netting.
I put on my gloves and gingerly began clipping away at the netting. The little guy was not happy with me. He kicked his hind feet and tried to bite me. I calmly told him, Im not going to hurt you, buddy. Just relax. But he didnt understand, so in fear he resisted. I finally snipped the last restricting loop and sent him scampering home.
Sometimes humans feel entangled and react in fear to the Lord. Through the centuries, He has offered rescue and hope to peopleyet we resist Him, not understanding the help He provides. In Isaiah 41, the prophet quotes the Lord as saying, For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, Fear not; I will help you (v.13).
As you think about your situation, how do you see Gods role? Are you afraid to turn things over to Himfor fear that He might harm you? He is good and He is near, wanting to free you from lifes entanglements. You can trust Him with your life.
In what area of your life do you need freedom? Ask the Lord to show you and to give you the faith to trust Him for His deliverance.
Faith is the best antidote for fear.
: Of the prophet Isaiah, The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia says: Isaiah was the son of Amoz (not Amos). He seems to have belonged to a family of some rank, as may be inferred from his easy access to the king (Isa 7:3), and his close intimacy with the priest (Isa 8:2). Tradition says he was the cousin of King Uzziah. He lived in Jerusalem and became court preacher. He was married and had two sons: Shear-jashub, his name signifying a remnant shall return (Isa 7:3), and Maher-shalal-hash-baz, hasting to the spoil, hurrying to the prey, symbolic of Assyrias mad lust of conquest (Isa 8:3).

~Remembering Those Who Gave All~
"The Mansions of the Lord" Words by Randall Wallace
To fallen soldiers let us sing where no rockets fly nor bullets wing Our broken brothers let us bring to the mansions of the Lord
No more bleeding no more fight No prayers pleading through the night just divine embrace, eternal light in the mansions of the Lord
Where no mothers cry and no children weep We will stand and guard tho the angels sleep All through the ages safely keep the mansions of the Lord

Just saw flooding in areas around Canyon Lake on the weather channel..Stay safe if you are there...I am staying home this weekend. Floods all over!
May God protect the rescuers. Prayers for the firefighter’s loved ones in Oklahoma. He died in a rescue attempt.

Thanks, Meg.
We’re not there...we decided to stay home, due to all of the rain forecasts. I just checked....Canyon Lake level has gone up an additional 4.75’, since yesterday! Wow. It’s now about 4’ OVER normal level.
Amen to the prayers for our brave rescuers.
Glad you are staying in, this weekend. So much flooding going on.
