I wonder if that was as bad as Vista. My daughter had that on a little laptop, and it was just awful.
I'm just a po' boy, so I haven't experienced every permutation of Windows. I started with 98 (which I loved), then moved to XP after we got new computers in '04 (which I loved even more). I finally moved to Win7 on a new box after the last of my old dinosaurs died on me.
I don't feel any need to upgrade right now, but support for 7 is going bye-bye. Oh well....I hope I'm as happy with Windows 10 as I was with the previous versions I've grown accustomed to.
Don't despair. Support for Win7 is still available until 2020. What ended recently was the free phone support (which I never used anyway) and the addition of new features. Okay, fine by me, leave it like it is, it works fine for me now.
Microsoft will still be providing updates and security patches for another 5 years for Windows 7. Hang in there, it'll be okay. :)
Oh, no.
W2KPro was rock solid.
I had machines run for 2 years without a reformat on that OS.
Then the USB issues started and they went to WinME.
The horror.
The horror...
I have lots of Vista DVDs laying around.
Wonder if anyone would buy them?
[or my Win95 CD]
:D
You had good luck: 98, XP and 7!
Most of us had a struggle or two with the crap OS’s like ME and Vista.
Once Microsoft announced Windows 8 (and 8 only until they were forced to rerelease Windows 7 machines) I was overdue for as new computer (my old XP box was not up to my current processing needs) so I bought a mac, installed Windows 7 in a virtual machine and have been very happy.
My clients with Windows 8 are just so-so happy with their 8 machines. I avoid Windows 8 in all forms, personally.
Hoping your Windows 7 box lasts a long time!
