(KUTV) A co-founder of genealogy company Ancestry.com has been arrested, accused of sexually abusing a teen.
Prosecutors say 50-year-old Daniel Taggart gave his daughter and her 15-year-old friend alcohol and sex toys during an overnight party.
Police say Taggart played cards with the girls and encouraged a twerking contest. The 15-year-old allegedly got shot glasses and sex toys as prizes. Eventually the alcohol, police say, took effect.
According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the victim told police once Taggart’s daughter feel asleep, he turned on a pornographic video and sexually assaulted her.
She said the same thing happened at another sleepover a month later. Taggart denies the allegations.
Police say they believe the 15-year-old may not be the only girl caught up in Taggart’s alleged games.
He co-founded Ancestry.com but is no longer with the company. In addition to Ancestry, the BYU grad started LDSAudio.com...

It would be hard for the daughter to testify against her dad. May the teenager have lots of courage. Things like this don’t come to the light easily in Utah.

Sad for these kids. I hope they throw the book at the guy, but it seems they never get too much time. The local paper had something about some guy that was released after a few years, labelled a Level 1 sex offender, and had already raped someone a few months after release.
