Anyone who knows how long it would take to restart the electric grid knows this is very stupid.
But hey, they want unicorn milk, let them sit in the dark.

Fire up that lawn mower and snow blower Sorry, I don't have time for all that. I'm too busy stringing up my Christmas lights. Never hurts to test them now and again.

Here in New York out on Long Island we are once again having a blizzard as I write this, and it's spring time. Global warming my ASS. Oh excuse me "Climate change". This whole winter we got bombarded by snow, just like we did 20 years ago, just like we did 30 years ago, 40 years and 50 years ago. That's as long as I can remember, but my Grandmother remembers all the way back to the 1920s and we can go further back to the 1800s like the great blizzard of 1888 .....Liberals can stick it where the sun don't shine when it comes to them and the evironment...

The overhead lights, lamps, and other appliances have been on all day.
Turn on the air conditioner, then open your oven door and heat the house. Be sure to leave the refrigerator door open during this time.
Let the kids play with the garage-door opener.
Run the washing machine with one garment in it. Use lots of soap so you’ll have to run it through another cycle to get all the soap out.

Lights go out in our house every evening when we go to bed. They’re off all night long - longer than that one hour hoax.

Scavenge the magnetrons from some microwave ovens, rig them together, then beam them into space in honor of Nuking Earth Hour.
Or “Neh”.

Something they can’t do in North Korea. Why? Because they don’t have any lights to turn off. Isn’t communism wonderful?

I’ve got the PSUs on my Cisco switches running on “Max Performance.” I’ve got my 1kW server PSU on full. I’ve got my the dual 460 watt PSUs on three of my five rackmount servers running in “Max Perf” mode. My power meter is spinning like a Florida ceiling fan on “Full.”

Heard an interesting thing on the radio yesterday while driving around eastern Ontario, Canada. A leftie commentator was on saying that the Earth Hour thing might not be too effective in this neck-of-the-woods because all of the electrical power produced in this area is either hydro or nuclear. No real harm to the environment. The host asked him what should we do then to protest or make a “difference”. The leftie had no answer. It was a strange moment.
