I believe that this is likely to cause quite a few rear-end collisions.

Until the first car that gets in an accident because it could not accelerate. They should crowd source their ideas before they announce them.

The cops and prosecutors will never allow a huge stream of income from speeding tickets go away.

OK, so I am on a road with a speed limit of 60. I want to pass a car that is fluctuating between 55-58.
This is a disaster waiting to happen.

In some areas you can be ticket for impeding traffic even if you are driving the speed limit.

It is just a matter of time before the insurance industry butts their nose in and demands that ALL cars have this technology. But the cities dependent on traffic ticket revenues are gonna hate it.

I remember the good ol’ days before eighteen wheelers had governors that limited their speed. You never found yourself behind two semis for ten minutes while one tried to pass the other.

this will CAUSE accidents by preventing needed speed in accident avoidance.
Also nobody will buy this “bib mommy” BS. (perhaps the European eunuchs or NYC effetes)

On the freeways I drive here in SOCAL, if you drive the speed limit (generally 65mph), you’ll get run over.
To: C19fan
The local mall has 5mph signs on its loop road — nobody goes less than 35mph.
To: C19fan
If these pick up signals (wifi?) from the traffic sign posts, could those same signposts be driven by the police to slow the speed limit to 5 miles per hour in the incidence of a chase?

Most truck fleets have/use this already. It’s how we help manage our fuel costs. But if you keep buying cars with carburetors, you should be OK.
