White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest responded today to Ted Cruzs strong pledge in his presidential announcement this morning to repeal Obamacare once he gets into office.
In his list of things he asked the audience to imagine, Cruz said, Imagine a new president signing legislation repealing every word of Obamacare.
When asked about this today, Earnest said, There was a presidential candidate who ran in 2012 promising to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and that campaign pledge didnt work out very well for him.
“There was a presidential candidate who ran in 2012 promising to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and that campaign pledge didn’t work out very well for him.”
Mitt Romney made so many errors in that campaign, this was hardly the deciding issue.
The biggest error was to exclude the T.E.A. party, and the resulting NOTA vote was what took Mitt down, not any moral superiority on the part of the Current Occupant.
John McCain would have been drubbed even worse in 2008 without Sarah Palin on the ticket, and she got shuffled off in a corner for most of the campaign.
I think 80 Seats in Congress have gone to the GOP , Josh.
He had to remind national reporters that Yemen was a success story & because Iran chants "Death To America" we must negotiate with them.
Plus, back at that time, it was not completely evident that no one would be able to keep their health insurance, keep their doctors, or afford their premiums.
He has to grin and bear it.
And like Bobby Gibbs and Jay Carney, after a while he’ll ditch that low 6 figure WH salary and move on to make some real dough.
Quote: “Romney did not attack Obamacare the way Cruz will be able to do. Romney had the anchor of Romneycare tied around his neck.”
Which is exactly why the MSM choose him as our candidate. They knew he could not hit Obama on his greatest vulnerability.
Flash to today and they are at it again. All the democrat party has left after years of failed policies is to scream “racism” and to blame Bush for everything. Naturally, they are pushing another Bush to be our nominee. Classic. Even more classic, the GOP-e will fall for it.
Yup. I remember 2014.
I remember what happened too the last time an enemy islamist ran for President.
The creator of Romneycare gave a few insincere hints that he might tinker with Obamacare. That is nothing like what Sauron’s Mouth is now claiming.
JV Team.
I call it the “Jarrett,Valerie” team.
