The article seemed to me to be the sort of empty mocking that left uses to try to deflate a personality that they hate or fear. Trump aside I think the Left will find little traction with this tactic at this advanced date.

Trump swings left as often as he swings right. His only principle is self-promotion. He pulls this every election cycle, and I strongly get the feeling he laughs his butt off at the rubes (as he sees them) who buy into it. He’s having fun.
