Damn eviro-nazi whackos have just about ruined 4 wheeling. Roads closed. Off limits to vehicles. Gates everywhere.
Hell. 40 years ago we used to be cruising town on weekends. Get a bunch of folks together and we could be gone all day...and all night it you wanted. And never touch a paved road. Now....B.S. “They” just recently closed one of my favorite roads across the Rebecca mountains. White Gap. Beautiful and fairly challenging to cross. Get to the top of White Gap and there was a road that went back toward town across the ridge of the mountain for about 10 miles. Damn! Beautiful. Wish I had those pics where I’d go to the top during a snow. Unbelievable. I have them but not digital.
Anyway. From my house now, I can look out from my deck and see the Rebecca Mountains in the distance. Coincidentally the name of my last wife. She is beautiful, just like them. And every morning when I wake up I’m reminded of her. Just Great.
On my last trip to the 4-Corners area I noticed many of my favorite roads had been closed. I used to get a San Juan County map at the local library and go into some very remote areas alone where the roads had not been maintained for decades. If I had broke down, I might still be there today bleaching in the sun.
so people let the government dictate?
