Hmmm, when I had the great luxury of touring Rome extensively back in the late '70's while stationed in Europe, I noticed way too much spray painted graffiti all over Rome's great marble monuments.
It took away from their majestic history.
Back then it was the Communists who defaced them, nowadays, not much different.

How embarrassing for America that our young people have so little respect for another country’s heritage and history. Bad enough they deface our own country.
