FAIRFIELD, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) – Police in Fairfield, Connecticut, are investigating the discovery of two dead skunks with a sign reading “Obama Stinks.”

Lived in Fairfield a number of years ago ... this was before I became politicized in the early Clinton years ... Fairfield County (at the time) was considered more Republican than any other area of the state. New Haven & Hartford were heavily blue.
Except the story does not report how the animals died.
If the skunks were road-kill that someone picked up and used for a prank then there was no cruelty to these animals - apart from the insult of having been compared to Barack Obama.

back in the 50s, my mother’s cousin owned an efficiency cottage resort in the ‘Italian’ catskill mountains (as opposed to the Jewish Alps, catskills, further south and west).
he would provide other services like bookmaking and numbers for the folks vacationing there....one evening he was walking the perimeter of the place with a pistol on his hip....I was maybe 8 years old and asked him what the gun was for....
“skunks” was his answer.
I often wondered if the skunks he was packing for were 2 or 4 legged

Hi FRiend. Although our state sucks beyond belief (sorry to everyone out there) you would be pleasantly surprised of all the good people on our side. We always lose 51 to 49 thanks to hartford and bridgeport.
