Everyone in Washington is talking about Hillary Clinton's use of a personal e-mail account during her four years as secretary of State and her homebrew computer server. Everyone, that is, except for many Senate Democrats.
As operatives, strategists and opposition research groups rush to her defense, some Washington Senate Democrats are remaining silent for the moment, saying they've been too busy with the week's packed schedule to be fully briefed on the crisis du jour.
Democrats have a difficult line to walk. They don't want to be seen hitting their strongest contender to keep the White House, but that does not mean they are rushing to shield her from criticism either. For more than a dozen senators, the easiest thing to do was to shrug off questions about Clinton's private e-mail or the fact she was running them through her own server.
"[I've] been busy with other things around here, like Prime Minister Netanyahu and ISIL and things like that," Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland said on the way to a midday floor vote. "So I haven't looked at it yet."

The Chick HENS are packing up to move on home !
The money with the Clinton Global initiative, the 8 million dollar a year travel expenses, the lapses of responsibility, the missing 6 billion from the State Dept office, the Chinese and unfriendly nations with the US donations to the fund, and now the e-mail debacle. She would be better off walking away into the sunset
This whole thing reeks of Democrat Party manipulation. I’d bet as I’ve posted in another commentary John Kerry will all of a sudden become their front runner in a few weeks.
As I’ve posted in years past Bill ‘n Hill blew it with the party when they jumped the track, and went off on their own during the Clinton years. They were punished by blowing Hill off the campaign, and putting their latest flame BHO up for the lead.
The Democrat Party doesn’t trust the Clinton’s anymore than we do, but for different reasons.
The Chick HENS are packing up to move on home !
They sure are. And Hitlery is toast.
The Clinton machine is dying.
Kerry? LOL!
I hope so, he'll make Bob Dole look like a Cruz orator!
I think Democrats are the ones setting off the mines that are blowing her legs off. I believed at first that the Clintons were getting this stuff out early so it will be old news in a year. Then the MSM started carrying it and not accusing Christians of doing it.
The Democrat Party is playing the roll. All indications are they are going to run their most loyal of all, and that would be John F’n Kerry who was in Viet Nam dontcha know.
It will be the same this go-around. Some other candidate will come out of nowhere because Hillary is an unlikeable old shrew to most people.
Beware of the Indian in the underbrush.
Sanders/Pelosi ‘16
Under the bus with you, evil Succubus!
Their last 2 nominees who won were youthful — BJ Clinton in 1992 and Obama in 2008.
Hillary has not aged well, even if she has been undergoing a retooling during her recent absence from the public.
Young people have heard of Hillary most of their adult lives. For them, she is as must ‘establishment’ as most any other Senator or Rep in DC.
As with John Kerry in 2004, Hillary doesn’t have much of a record of accomplishments to run on.
The same faction(s) who derailed her last run are likely trying to derail any current run.
And the recent revelations of the Clinton Foundation taking in millions while she was S of S and Slick willie going to that sex island, etc, etc.
Living with Jack Daniels is the only future she has. She’ll probably be dead in 5 years.
The far left have decided she is not The One. Now it will be a fight between the far left and the pragmatists as to who gets the nomination.
DU is ready to lynch Hilary, not a good sign for her.
