Who’s “we”? I never do that. Seems like lately shaking hands at least with acquaintances in informal settings, is being replaced by “bumping fists” (certainly seems cleaner - although maybe not a warm and friendly).

If, by “sniff” they mean “wash vigorously with copious amounts of soap” then yes, yes I do. :)
Why are so many of you shaking hands with people so scummy you need to wash them afterwards?
I don’t shake hands with gross or scummy people.
Hell, I never really encounter such people.
