The lyrics of "Bad Moon Rising" were spot on for America.
I see a bad moon rising. I see trouble on the way. I see earthquakes and lightnin'. I see bad times today.
Don't go around tonight, Well it's bound to take your life, There's a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes a blowing. I know the end is coming soon. I fear rivers over flowing. I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
Well don't go around tonight, Well it's bound to take your life, There's a bad moon on the rise.
Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. One eye is taken for an eye.
Well don't go around tonight, Well it's bound to take your life, There's a bad moon on the rise.
Don't come around tonight, Well it's bound to take your life, There's a bad moon on the rise.
Yep, that song is just as relevant today.
Well it was the 60s
2015 makes 1968 look like Strawberry Fields.
At 1:52 he sings it. He often inserts this misheard lyric towards the end of the song as a joke.

The Envoy

Nuclear arms in the Middle East
Israel is attacking the Iraqis
The Syrians are mad at the Lebanese
And Baghdad does whatever she please
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Things got hot in El Salvador
CIA got caught and couldn’t do no more
He’s got diplomatic immunity
He’s got a lethal weapon that nobody sees
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Send the envoy
Send the envoy
Whenever there’s a crisis
The President sends his envoy in
Guns in Damascus
Woa, Jerusalem
Nuclear arms in the Middle East
Israel is attacking the Iraqis
The Syrians are mad at the Lebanese
And Baghdad do whatever she please
Looks like another threat to world peace
For the envoy
Send the envoy . . .
Send for me
Leslie Baldacci, who used to be on WLS radio in Chicago, used that as her show theme music.
I often heard it
“Don’t go out tonight,
There’s bound to be a fight.
they’re in a bad mood on the Right!”
I am having trouble driving,
Hotel is fifteen miles away.
I feel my bladder is a-tightenin’,
I wish the urge would go away.
CHORUS:
Just sit and hold tight,
I won’t unzip my fly,
There’s a bathroom on the right.
I feel that the pain is growing,
I know I’m gonna let flow soon.
All I can think about is oceans,
My upholstery’s about to be ruined.
CHORUS
Hold tight!
Wish I could hold it in forever,
But my willpower’s starting to slide.
Looks like I’m gonna taint the leather,
But I’ll hold until my kidneys fry.
Yet it never happened. It is fifty years on, and the Destruction the song predicted hasn’t happened yet, and is no closer to happening than it was five decades ago.
I thought “Willie and the Po’ boys” were “Willie and the Pope boys”, like they were brothers and their last name was “Pope”. I also thought that the lyrics went “Down on the corner, howdy in the street”, instead of “out in the street”. I imagined a bunch of country folks walking around the street saying “howdy” to each other :)
BAD MOON..........................
So was Pink Floyd................
Eclipse
(Waters) 2:04
All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that’s to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
“There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it’s all
In their song “She’s a Woman,” the Beatles sing, “she don’t give boys the eye.” For 40 years, until I finally read the lyrics on the Internet, I thought they were singing, “she don’t hit RBI’s (runs batted in), or, in other words, she only scores with me.
Did you think Jimmy Hendrix said ‘ ‘Scuse me while I kiss this Guy”.?
The actual words of the song, which was originally released in 1958, are "you won't believe that she's mine..." and "one thing is certain, she's mine..."
In the last 30 years, I thought the song We be Jammin’ was saying ‘Weepy Jamas.” Why are your pajamas crying?
That is my favourite mondegreen.
What about “I’ll never be your pizza burning.” - Rolling Stones
