All the awards have been given out and it looks like the final numbers for the 87th Oscars are in. Running from 8:30 PM to 11:48 PM ET last night, the Neil Patrick Harris hosted show garnered a 10.8 rating among adults 18-49 with 36.6 million viewers. Among the key demo that’s a 17% drop from what the final ratings for the 2014 Academy Awards were and the worst the AMAPAS ceremony has done since 2008.That show had a 10.68 rating. The total viewership for last night’s Oscars were down 18% from last year to hit a 6-year low. The 2009 Oscars had a total audience of 36.6 million. Now, the numbers for the 2015 Oscars could see further adjustment, as they did last year but let’s just say, it’s pretty certain they won’t be going up to 2014 or 2013 levels.

Do these people understand the concept of there being a time and a place for everything?
There is a time and a place, a more private place, for Doogie Howser to strut his stuff. I would submit that an awards show on national television is not the time or place for a nearly nude Doogie Howser. I guess I’m just not liberal enough to understand the appeal of him doing this.
I do, but the Academy is politicized and prejudiced and I think too often the awards are tainted by it.

At 46 I haven’t seen them yet...
It takes them 3 hours to tell me what I can find by spending 5 minutes on the Internet. Why would I want to watch some liberal BS for that long? No thank you. Besides half the crap that “wins” is crap liberals like, not the American public.

I saw some of it because the other channels were worse. When the guy started prancing in his underwear I turned the dammed thing off. Nothing but hypocritical political correctness.
