Three Political Notes on the Oscars (So Far)
February 22, 2015
1) The host cant stop stoking racial grievance. Great exactly what America needs.
2) The idea that women dont have equal rights in this country is a lie a lie that, year after year, does harm.
3) Harry Belafonte is the opposite of a humanitarian: the loyal supporter of one of the most brutal dictatorships of our times, the Castro regime in Cuba, which has imprisoned, tortured, and killed thousands of innocent people.

They all are. Just ask them.
They just can’t help it can they? Gotta get that gay remark/action in there.
As for the political, activism speeches, getting warmed up for a Republican president.
I thank goodness for the same instrument I use for the Oscars and Zer0’s speeches, the DVR.
Mozilla: > They skipped Joan Rivers on purpose from the memoriam.
> John Legend gave a rousing speech in accepting the Oscar for best music for the civil-rights drama “Selma,” ...Legend won the award with rapper Common for their song “Glory,” ...”We live in the most incarcerated country in the world,” Legend said. “There are more black men under correctional control today than there were under slavery in 1850.”
The difference is, slavery was wrong.
Does anyone actually watch the Oscars?
She was in movies and even wrote and directed one. “Rabbit Test”’staring Billy Crystal. Heard it was awful. Plus she voiced ‘Dot Matrix’ the robot in Space Balls.
It was because Joan Rivers supports Israel.
Angelou was a writer and director.
And Hollyweird shows there true colors by throwing a bone to “American Sniper” for Sound Editing.
My wife watched part of the “pre-Oscar” show. I was only paying scant attention (in hopes of seeing Jennifer Anniston). Here is what I noticed:
1. I had no idea who most of the people were.
2. The dresses must be dreamed up by some whack-o.
3. Even the men’s outfits were stupid looking.
4. I wasted some of my time because I didn’t get to see Jenn (I know she is one of the “Hollyweird elite” but she is still incredibly sexy).
5. Joan Rivers was not completely left out as her daughter did a small bit about her.
Joan Arquet whining about womans inequality
Was she talking about women’s inequality in muslim countries?
I did not watch the Oscars last night and haven't since maybe the early 70's. It's an example what has turned me off over the years from the disgusting and shameless pop culture in this country. I do enjoy watching movies but can do without the Hollywood-types fawning over each other and spewing their liberal drivel, as if they know better than the rest of us.
I knew the best picture, I've seen all year, American Sniper, would not win any major awards from this bunch of Michael Moore clones and I was right. The best picture rarely is the "best" picture of the year. It's all about political posturing and marketing among the insiders.
So I'm with you. Controlled my viewing last night with the judicious use of the remote and never turned the Oscars on. And if I never, ever hear that haughty, lying, arrogant, lecturing voice of Obama again in my lifetime, I will be happy. Turns my stomach faster than I can turn the channel sometimes. :-)
The funniest moment was when he stated there are more black men incarcerated today than suffered under slavery he dramatically paused for the expected ovation.
And
not
a
sound
was
heard
except my bellowing laughter
Agree. Here’s some other parts of his quote.
Maybe he would like to be in one of those cages in another country and see what real oppression is like..
“We say that ‘Selma’ is now, because the struggle for justice is right now,” said Legend. “We know that the voting rights act that they fought for 50 years ago is being compromised right now in this country today.
We know that right now the struggle for freedom and justices where we live in the most incarcerated country in the world.”
I knew the best picture, I’ve seen all year, American Sniper,
May be the voters don’t realize that the people by their spending felt the same.
May be off on the actual global $$ but I believe American Sniper earned $304 million in US & Canada, and the Winner Birdman came in around $30 million.
My how they love to reward their own...
She didn’t mention how rape and beating women is tolerated in Mooselimb countries. She was too outraged we haven’t nominated a woman President yet.
If the Oscars were awarded on the same basis as the Nobel committee did when Obama's award was given before he ever did anything, I could have won an Oscar for best actor, because I never have acted or been in a movie at all.
Did that make sense?
Just another year of the non-productive being celebrated by their peers. They pump gratuitous sex and violence into the country and then profess to be against it. As far as hypocrites go they far outdistance the empty suits of Washington.
Not too dissimilar to the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize. A bunch of liberals fawning over their favorite leftie.

Perfect. And I could get the award for scientific achievement by being the first to colonize Mars....
American Sniper wont win crap from this bunch. disgusting!
Just remember that the American public has already voted on this with their pocketbook.
