This guy isn't western.
He's not modernized.
He's not moderate.
He doesn't care about the West.
He's not compassionate.
He is using GLASNOST
And people in the West.. faced with such a weak leader as Obama.. are eating it up.
Putin is a DICTATOR! He is NOT.. I repeat NOT our friend. He isn't a friend of the West.
Every Soviet leader has used this "polishing" trick going back to Ivan the Terrible.

He doesn’t care about the West.
He’s not compassionate.
And the welfare class in the West.. faced with their own weak moral code.. are eating it up.
Obama is a DICTATOR! He is NOT.. I repeat NOT our friend. He isn’t a friend of the West.

It may be vicarious, after having a "leader" like Obama running this country who cares not for America, people see that Putin wants to put Russia first in a way that Obama will not put America first.

Like almost ALL political leaders, he cares MORE about himself than his country. But I actually genuinely think that Putin is a Russian nationalist. Who could accuse Obama of being an American nationalist?

Our coward in chief played as much a part in creating the Putin of today as ma and pa Putin did.
Obama has shown nothing but cowardice in dealing with Putin and his administration will never be able to regain the upper hand. Instead of going to the Olympics and facing Putin like a man while trying to diplomatically head off the Ukraine crisis, Obama was hiding under his desk sniping at Putin about gay rights in Russia. Putin knew at that point he didn’t need to worry about us.
Now Obama has a world in flames and is incapable of fighting one enemy, let alone multiple enemies.

The FReepers who are most galling are those who claim that the problems in Ukraine are all caused by the U.S., NATO, Nazis, etc. Somehow, they never seem to care that the Soviets butchered more Ukrainians than Hitler butchered Jews.
Ya think maybe the Ukrainians hate Putin? The Ukrainians who really want freedom are good people and should be supported in their struggle against Putin and his marauding military.

I met a truck driver the other day named Demetri (sp?), who came to the US 10 years ago from the Ukraine. In our small talk and accordingly, he and his family left Ukraine after Putin had his father imprisoned for being a Christian preacher. Demetri did say that his father died years ago but I didn't ask how. Apparently Putin's thuggish reach into the Ukraine has been around for quite sometime.

Saying that Putin is an evil tyrant who is no friend of the West, doesn't mean that one thinks that Obama isn't an evil tyrant who isn't more dangerous to our country.
You post as if you think there might be some confusion on that.
