19-year-old Alecia Faith Pennington has spent her life so sheltered by her Christian fundamentalist parents that now, as a young adult, she is finding it almost impossible to prove to the government that she actually exists.
In a video uploaded to YouTube and quickly going viral, Pennington documents the various ways her parents have managed to prevent leaving even a single speck of evidence to help her gain an official identity or to prove that she is a United States citizen. For starters, they gave birth to her at home, and declined to get a birth certificate or social security number. She was then homeschooled, and the family never took her to a hospital or doctors office.

Even after 1935; maybe up till 1975.
Folks of my generation (baby boomers) could use a baptismal cert to prove they were old enough to drive & thus get a drivers license.
Once they had that, then it may have been possible to get the soc sec card when they started working a summer job in high school... or after high school.
The soc sec might have needed a birth cert, but possibly the drivers license established age...
Need some input as to the soc sec requirements back in 1975...

In other words, had this happened to me back in the mid 70s , there would not have been the nightmare catch 22 going on, like what is happening with this young lady.
Bottom line is, the feds have to be backed off somehow, there has to be a balance arrived at....
Let the states take care of the folks within their borders, have them work things out when a person in this situation comes to them for document assistance.
For anyone who is interested, here’s a link to the current federal law that covers acceptable forms of documentation of citizenship and identity.
The bottom line is that there are many. many ways to provide acceptable proof. There is both primary and secondary evidence that is acceptable.
Title 42 U.S.Code §435.407 Types of acceptable documentary evidence of citizenship.

She has the items in the above list; compare them with the ones in the federal doc you posted.
Let me know which items she has on hand show up in the fed list in the proper quantities.
Points to consider :
She has no birth cert on hand,
no soc sec #,
never went to public school,
never had a driving license,
baptism doc doesn’t have a date,
the midwife that delivered her at her moms house doesn’t have any record of her birth.
Affidavit mentioned in the fed list can’t be from a relative.
She can’t get a medical record without an ID (went to dr when she was 9, dentist later on) even if she could remember the dr name from when she was 9.
A lot of life isn’t terribly easy when you can’t prove you exist. Legit jobs, credit, marriage licenses, life insurance. I suppose it can all be accomplished with fake ID but then she’ll be committing multiple felonies every day.
Parent living on the outskirts of normalcy really need to stop and think about what they’re signing their kids up for. She’s destined for a life of lots of annoying paperwork.
Update to my post
Her baptism doc doesn’t have a birth date for her.
They do have a Doctor visit docfrom when she was 9, but only proves age and identity not citizenship.
She tried to get delayed birth cert at court house but they wouldn’t see her without proof of citizenship.
The docs she does have in that list I posted only prove identity and age, not citizenship.
The court house wanted —three— documents proving her age and that she was a citizen.
She didn’t have them, thus wasn’t able to get a delayed birth cert.
Her parents won’t sign anything verifying their citzenship and her birth facts.
From the federal law:
1) Federal or State census record showing U.S. citizenship or a U.S. place of birth. (Generally for persons born 1900 through 1950.) The census record must also show the applicant’s age.
I might try and see if the above exists. I stress this one because my own mother was a home birth in a rural area and her mother died from the child birth. My mother, who is now 95 years old has only had a census report to use as an original citizenship and identity document.
It documents her birth, two and a half years earlier and it was acceptable to get other identity documents later in her life.
I remember reading that, about the census.
Now the challenge for the young lady under discussion is how to get ahold of the census covering her birth year....
normally the census comes out far later.
I.E. they just came out with the 1940 census:
http://1940census.archives.gov/
“.... The 1940 census records were released by the US National Archives April 2, 2012, ....”
Her parents were boobs, but now the statist government leftists are just as big boobs with their inflexible regulations that lack common sense.
Dead,
You hit the nail on the head.
There was a time where the govt accepted baptism certificates as proof of age and with that, one could get a driver license.
Here’s where I’m not sure of the earlier requirements, because I got my passport later on, and I had a birth cert and didn’t use a baptism cert.
Perhaps if one had their parents baptism certificates, then one could show where the parents were born and thus show ones own citizenship.
Or if they were naturalized, those docs would be on hand.
I thought of something... parents don’t want to sign anything saying that —they— are citizens .....
because perhaps they are dodging taxes...
The dad changed his, the wife’s, and the kids names to Pennington ... the previous names don’t exist anymore.... he got a notary friend to do it.... now the feds hit a roadblock.
If dad admits he’s a citizen and connects his former last name to the current one....
BOOM!!
More tax stuff regarding Alecia’s parents; they filed with the court in November 19, 2013, and court date was set Jan 6th to the 9th 2014:

Also, they bought their house in Kerrville in Kerr County on 1/25/2002; county records search on “Pennington, James & Lisa will bring that up. Pick 2014 in the link below:

That’s Forrest Gump on the right.
Her parents are Catholics?
No. See FRmail.
Update:
Per the jinger website & her FB page, there’s a lawyer taking her case.
I think the lawyer plus the census info are the best bet.
From the docs that she has on hand, she has proven age and identity, so then the census will show her parents citizenship & her place of birth.
Also in my post linked below, some info on the parents.
The former name and current name of the dad are linked....

TSR,
You have gotten to the root of the problem.
Suffice it to say that the concept of the SSN being “the mark of the beast” is flawed, because one can still use cash to purchase things, and sell things for cash.
One doesn’t show their SSN when buying groceries or selling something they’ve made.
Plus, anyone working pays into their soc sec and that soc sec # is their —account number—
And for banking purposes it needs to tie in, for when the person is old enough to draw soc sec benefits.
So, there is no reason for a SSN until someone starts working.
In addition, the requirement for SSN for babies was due to people claiming exemptions for more kids than they actually had.
There —is— a form at Texas DPS to fill out if one doesn’t have a SSN, so if the kid was born at home & was homeschooled & parents paid cash for any dr visits, there is provision for that.
There is —no— reason for the midwife & parents not to file a birth doc.
Is it when the kid is born in hospital that they require a SSN?
A birth doc is in no way shape or form “the mark of the beast”; one doesn’t show it to buy or sell.
The “mark of the beast” described in scripture is a mark on one’s hand or head; either an actual mark or a metaphor for action (hand) and intent (head).
Action and intent or actual mark with regard to buying and selling; and —no— alternative.
We are NOT at that point now.
Swampsniper,
19 year old Alecia’s parents & grandparents were born here, her parents were married here, and the 17 year old sister was also born here.
Genealogy databases have the above info.
There’s no reason to believe any of the kids were born outside the u.s.
They are all citizens.
Only the parents, grandparents, and their 17 year old daughter (upon reaching 35) could run for president.
That point should have been made, along with the can’t vote, can’t get a job, can’t drive, list shown on the website & video.
