Ellin Jimmerson, a Baptist pastor in Huntsville, Alabama, said she was surprised when she was asked to perform one of Alabama's first same-sex wedding ceremonies after the state overturned its ban on gay marriage. Although she has been supportive of the LGBTQ community, she's best known for her immigration activism.
"I cannot get my head around what happened yesterday," Jimmerson, 63, told The Huffington Post over the phone on Tuesday. "It wasn't just a local story."

I wonder if the church this heretic is a pastor for is as Baptist as Westboro Baptist.

“after the state overturned its ban on gay marriage”
Gosh, here I thought it was by judicial decree, who knew the state did it..

1st of all, the pastor is a woman, which is against biblical teaching. 2nd of all, she presided over an abomination. Unless she repents, she should experience the wrath of an angry God!

Even more so . . . and too stupid to know that they are digging their own grave. The gospel of "Gays are Groovy" is totally incompatible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
There will be nobody left to patronize their churches of false Christianity once the state religion of libtardism is in charge.

This doesn’t sound like any true Baptist church I ever heard of. I would think one of the national Baptist organizations would be looking into this for their own good.

"Baptist News" ran
this article about Pastor Jimmerson. She was ordained in "Weatherly Heights Baptist Church in Huntsville, Ala" which may be found on the internet
here. It gives every appearance of being a "mainstream" Baptist Church. Of particular interest is the following from their
"who we are" page: "Weatherly Heights Baptist Church is located in suburban southeast Huntsville, Alabama. We are one of a few churches in Huntsville affiliated with both the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF). We are also affiliated with the Alabama Baptist Convention and the Madison Baptist Association.

That tells me that her church is only borrowing the name Baptist and has nothing to do with the Southern Baptists.

A little research will reveal that her church IS affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. See #8 above.

Once I read the name, then the word “she,” I knew this was not SBC but probably the American Baptists, who’ve long ago gone over to the dark side. I just shook my head, as most of their female “pastors” have wives at home themselves.

. . . who knew the state did it . . . That's the narrative, isn't it? This madness is now LAW even though both the legislatures of the states and the referenda of the people said no way to it.

My father resigned from a large American Baptist church in the early 60’s because it had gone apostate. He spent the rest of his life starting little Bible churches that were true to the Word. I’m glad he is in heaven , now and doesn;t have to see the abomination that America has become.

She is not Southern Baptist. She is an illegal immigrant activist. Bless her heart. She is so misled.

Am I the only one that sees a comparison to the story of Adam and Eve in all these female pastors shunning the word of God? I know they are not the only ones, but it seems most of the time, when we hear these stories, the pastor is a woman.

The worst of all worlds.

Good luck with that one. In a former life, I attended various Baptist Churches. Getting them to all agree on anything doctrinally would be about as successful as getting Catholics to give up raffles or bingo.
I do, however, think the vast majority of them would draw the line here, if anywhere.

Wonder if she and/or her church are members of the Southern Baptist Convention (or whatever it is called now).
I know the Presbyterian church has been endorsing gay marriage for awhile, but if Southern Baptists are doing it, then the country is TRULY going to hell in a handcart.

If the SBC doesn’t dump her and her church pronto, well I hope that a huge number of SBC churches will withdraw in protest.
