D@mmit! Now I want this for my supper, LOL!
Diana’s Mac-N-Cheese
8 ounces elbow macaroni
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt (can be omitted)
A dash of black pepper
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (I grate up whatever ‘soft’ cheese is on hand, so long as it equals 2 cups)
Cook macaroni according to package directions. In medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; stir in flour, salt and pepper; slowly add milk. Cook and stir until bubbly. Stir in cheese until melted. Drain macaroni; add to cheese sauce; stir to coat.
Thanks for the recipe, Diana, I’ll pass it on to the Mooch...
You forgot to save back some cheese for the top and bread crumbs. Other than that that’s more or less how I make mine.
That looks yummy ... any reason you couldn’t use pepper jack cheese instead of the cheddar?
Diana, you’re making me hungry!
That really isn’t a lot of butter. Your recipe is almost health food.
