MALIBU, Calif. Gender-bender reality-TV star Bruce Jenner rear-ended a car Saturday, causing an accident that killed a woman motorist.
Seven other people were injured in the accident, which happened shortly after noon on the Pacific Coast Highway near its intersection with Corral Canyon Road.
Jenners dark blue Cadillac Escalade was towing a dune buggy in a trailer when he rear-ended a white Lexus sedan being driven by an elderly woman.

The only reason you were only found 10 percent at fault, as their were obviously others who were also at fault prior to you rear ending the pack...
However, with California's “Deep Pockets” law that 10% liable could mean that you pay 100% if the others are uninsured and don't have any assets...:^(
Yeah. I don’t drive the RV at night anymore as a result. The way it was lying across the road made it look like it was just a repair crack with black tar in it, until I got close enough to see that it was 3-D, and not flat to the surface. By then, it was too late. Pucker factor of 8 on a 1-10 scale.
He may not be at fault.
Maybe, but it might be incompetence at pulling a fairly heavy trailer and not allowing for increased stopping distances. The swerve to the right was very unfortunate. A straight on rear end hit and the woman may have lived.
Deep pockets is right. Debris on the roadway has actually been identified and traced back to trucking companies etc...
$$$
Yes....probably wishful thinking by the celebrity-loving LA media.
Yep....
BTW, not your case, but another reason why tailgaters hit lots of debris, is because the vehicle they are tailgating suddenly moves to avoid hazardous debris, and the tailgater has no time to avoid it. Whammo. They have enough time to say....S**T
A good reason to remember what direction to turn your wheels when this is happening. Just like when you’re taking a left across oncoming traffic, to never turn your wheels to the left before turning.
Her wheels were straight, she wasn’t making a left turn. She had just hit a Prius who had either stopped or slowed in an unusual place. To take a left where the accident occurred means you were either doing a u- turn or driving onto the beach.
Either. And you have to be pretty dexterous to text and smoke and have your hands on the wheel at the same time.
Depends on the impact energy...If one is rear ended hard enough, the rear ended vehicle is going to be uncontrolled for a few critical seconds at least. Rear end collisions if severe enough, can remove one’s head from their spine.
The impact can throw a rear ended vehicle in the opposing direction of the impact. IOW, if a vehicle is impacted off center on the right rear end for instance, the impacted vehicle will move forward to the left in many cases. In this case it seems, into on-coming traffic.
Where have you been???
;>D
Jenner was putting on his make-up?
Yes, or using a foot.
Thank you
and who held the wheel? :)
Obviously, but it never hurts to drive defensively.
Yup. Ya got millions of drivers out there who do not have the skills, with millions of others who think they do. It’s a sea of non-professional drivers, many of which have been compromised etc. Ya gotta drive defensively. I’ve personally driven at a professional level in 6 other countries and was taught well.
Ya gotta be careful out there.
Not always.
I'm right handed, but most often smoke with my left hand. I suppose I tend to do that, so I can still use my dominant hand.
About the only time I smoke with my right hand, is when I'm driving. My left is my dominant steering hand and the ash tray is in the middle of the console, so it just makes more sense for me.
