Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn't sleeping well these days. Carroll and his offensive coaching staff made the infamous decision to pass the ball from New England's 1-yard line in the final seconds of Super Bowl XLIX, resulting in Russell Wilson throwing a game-ending interception.

Good!
That’s a great point. The two announcers were talking about that just before the Mother Of All Stupid Bowl Plays occurred.
Brady taking a knee is keeping him up at night?
There will be cheers of “Wrong play Pete! Wrong play Pete!”
Oh well, he gets payed well.
paid
You can tell by the replay the formation of the left side of the NE defense.
He should since there were two better calls out there that probably would have scored:
1. Give the ball to Lynch.
2. Fake to Lynch and let Wilson have a run-pass option on a bootleg.
Both are much safer plays than the one they chose.
Lynch was pretty much contained all game. His soring was not a given.
It was nice to see Pete Carol finally win a Super Bowl for New England!
Sorry, not sure who it was, but it is a great line!
Anyone get this ref? :-) /h
look at the replay.
Don't forget this was second down, one time out left and 26 seconds on the clock. They had to use a pass to stop the clock, if they were going to run three plays.
BUT NOT OVER THE FREAKIN MIDDLE!!
Was Brian Williams there whispering the play in his ear?
Same situation ... Brady to Edelman ... six points
no, they weren’t....if they intended that, they would have used a timeout....
Different sport (baseball), but I'm reminded of the World Series losing error by Bill Buckner, who, to my knowledge, still just smiles and shakes his head about it.
Or Twins manager Tom Kelly, listening to Jack Morris plead his case to go back to the mound for the tenth inning of World Series Game Seven: "Oh hell, it's just a ball game."
actually that play was a sure td except for an exceptional play by the defensive guy...
?.. sacked for loss ... lynch gains 2 on third and three ... game over.
