I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?
You should have an HP Recovery Manager on your computer. It should be pre-programmed to find the system partition and offer to recover the OS from the restore partition.
I don’t have the software to give you screen shots, but the Interwebs assureme this is all true.
It was Aaron’s anti-virus virus that gave you trouble, right? HP gives you McAfee or Norton or something that’s easy to remove.
Aaron’s gave me the CD with the anti-virus and I installed it, but as soon as I realized it wouldn’t let me get to my banking sites, I tried to uninstall it and that’s when the fun began.
If I lose everything, that’s fine, as I can reinstall it all. Right now, I’m using Avast, Ad-aware and Ghostery and they seem to be doing a good job with the tracking cookies and other nasty things.
Lacking a further solution, I will go through the steps you listed and see what’s there.
HP PCs - Performing an HP system recovery (Windows 8)
They call their thingie "Recovery Manager".
Sun’s shining, things have sort of dried up, and I am heading outdoors to attempt to finish up some items interrupted by weather and each other..
1) Finish the brake job on the Subaru - one wheel left to finish that was interrupted by the horizon swallowing my light source many days ago now and whose completion has been forestalled by rain and redmower issues..
2) Reinstall carburetor on the Little Red Ridingthing and attempt to start it with an ear for ugly sounds indicating that there are still loose carburetor parts in its innards..
I will return to computer mode eventually.. ;-)
Thanks to the magic of TeamViewer and support pages Face is printing and seeing her files.
1) Windoze 8.1 can suspend USB ports. We turned that off and the printer wuz identified.
2) Not all ports on her laptops have sufficient power to power her drive. She tried another port and the files were visible.
Just sharing in case you ever encounter same with others.
And it is a really good thing, too!!
I am so happy, now! LOL! *happy dance*
I don’t always get to add that much value on my job so it’s nice to be able to do this kind of side work.
I can’t begin to tell you what this means to me, but one thing is for sure: FReepers ROCK!!
Too short.
You didn’t quite make the point you seemed to intend. A little more background, such as previous play activities that would drive home the strange nature of what “going outside to play” actually entailed, would have added to the sweet nature of the story.
I was trying to make it a surprise at the end. It gave me an idea for a longer story though.
Please say a little prayer for my dog Fredd. He has a bloody lip and a little blood by his nose. He was just run over by a neighbors rear tire on his dully.
I was getting mail and in the firehall. Had no clue. The truck that ran him over has another dog and they always get into it. He runs so close to that truck. This time he got to close.
No broken bones, he ran home by me i was on my 4 wheeler. He is licking a lot. Called the vet waiting for him to call back.
The vet is 3 hours away, otherwise Fredd would be there now. He is acting normal.
That is messed up! sad!
A neighbor dog here got hit a while back, wasn’t able to use her 2 back legs for a little while... but she is running around out there now.
You’ll probably need X-rays to be sure. There might be damage to facial bones and such.
That he is breathing is a good sign, even if there is a bit of bleeding. All of that should be survivable. The concern should be whether anything is broken or might get worse somehow.
If necessary, make him comfortable for the night, and try to get pictures tomorrow.
Aw, CO. I am so sorry. I will send prayers for Fredd.
Please keep us informed!
the vet just called. She said to take away food. Limit water. The next 3 hours check his stool and pee and breathing. He has no broken bones for sure. He ran home with me checked him. Internal will be the issue I think. Thanks
Prayers up, CO.

.
If you have cayenne powder, put a spoon full in a small amount of water and stirr it up, and pour it down his throat.
It is the safest way to stop internal bleeding.

Lacking access to dragons, everyone should have a fire-breathing dog.
