I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

I blew out my voice and couldn't talk for four days. I had a sign that said, "Stop talking to me. I'm not going to respond!" It didn't work very well.

There's a scene in (Roald Dahl's) "Matilda" in which Miss Honey sees that Matilda's seat is empty. She pantomimes to another student (Where's Matilda) and gets the pantomime response (In the Chokey!)

When the Trunchbull asks her a question, she only responds with a nod, and exits the room. This arouses the Trunchbull's suspicion, but the significance is that Miss Honey has stayed in the non-verbal communication mode for the scene. It's interesting, and it plays in my head when someone is voiceless.

There’s a musical of “Matilda.” I’ve heard some of the songs on the Sirius Broadway channel.

Few recognize that Roald Dahl, author of "James and the Giant Peach", "Matilda", and "Charley and the Chocolate Factory", was writing Science Fiction.

Maybe I’ll check “Matilda” out of the library. Some of the songs are very interesting.

I’m sorry, but I could never get into Roald Dahl’s works. I may watch “Charley And The Chocolate Factory” with Johnny Depp, but I was very disappointed in the version with whatshisname that was married to Gilda Radner. (How could I forget his name? I loved him in “Young Frankenstein!”)

I never succeeded in reading a book, either, but I haven’t tried in a long time.

“Matilda”, with Mara Wilson and Danny DeVito, is a pure delight. It’s narrated by DeVito, who plays her dysfunctional father.

I was eat breakfast with my 10 yr old granddaughter and I asked her what day is tomorrow? Without hesitation she said “It’s presidents day!”. So I asked “What is Presidents day?”
I expected something about Obama, Bush or Clinton. But she said.

“Presidents day is the president steps out of the White house and if he sees his shadow there will another year of BS from Washington.”
