I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

Those kitties are cute aren’t they?
There is a version with a motorised arm that waves as you walk past.

A word of warning about Bambo plants: Keep them in a large ceramic pot if you value your garden...think Kudzu with martial arts expertise.

The small bamboo plants are the ones I’m thinking of. They are usually formed into loose coils or some other exotic style, and sit on a desk. Or window sill. They are popular here, as people say they bring “money luck.”

Not being a gambler, I wouldn’t know, but I do like the way they look.

PS: But yah...doesn’t bamboo grow a foot a day in its natural habitat? If so, I can understand how it could take over a garden... all you would need then is a panda...

Got you.

Lucky bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana)Technically a dracaena species, lucky bamboo is the perennial office plant. Untold pots of these thrive in awful conditions, sporadically watered with bad lighting and poor air quality. Nevertheless, lucky bamboo lives on. These make wonderful gift plants, and many people believe they bring good luck and enhance the chi, or energy, of their surroundings.

Had visions of NV Disappearing under a forest of 60' carpet tubes.:)

A foot a day is a slow one.
You can hear them creak as they grow.It is quite surreal.

Good morning! Bill has finally made a dentist appointment. Yay, adulthood! (He’s not paying, of course, but making the appointment himself was a big step.)

“What’s the dentist’s phone number?”
“I don’t know ... look it up!”
“Where?”
*think think*
“Right here ... on our souvenir Dr. Dhulab coffee cup!”

A couple of mornings ago, early, I was on the way to Walmart and saw a dog cross the street about a block ahead of me.

It was so hot here yesterday that I saw a dog chasing a squirrell and they were both walking.

Bamboo is grass. It’s tall, woody grass, but it’s grass.

And it will go everywhere you allow it, just like grass will (except where you want it, of course - or is that just me?).

If you plant some in your yard, plant a segment of cement culvert vertically first so it can’t spread.

You’ve been warned.

Bamboo flourishes here. The property next to our church has a bamboo forest which is steadily encroaching onto the church land.

It’s locally known as “vertical kudzu.”

The twisty bamboo plants are called “lucky bamboo” and are sold in pots as houseplants. Asuncion has some ... also an ivy vine that’s trained along the top of the wall all the way around their living room and kitchen. (Not that fond of ivy, myself ...)

The power company sent me a nagging letter with the information I needed to get on their website and pay the bill. Charged me a $5 late fee.

I hate nagging letters from any business. Of course, the cable company is my nemesis.

I got the thing squared away about my SNAP benefits, but it means a trip to the local welfare office to get a separate application. The good thing is that I don’t have to see an actual person, and I can drop the finished application in the correct box to be processed. By the time they finish, it will be time for my June SNAP allowance...all $16 worth.

I managed to get my desk and the sofa cleaned off, and got the patio swept. YAY! Now I have to clean the table off. I can’t decide if it gets full because I’m lazy or if it is a paper magnet.

Maybe, if I feel half-way decent, I’ll get the rug vacuumed.

My replacement portable nebulizer will be here today; the old one was still under warranty so I don’t have any co-pay on it.

I’m glad the power company sent the letter. They don’t give you an option to talk to a person when you call them, so the only way I could pay them without going to the office in person was for them to sent the account information.

I’d hate to think that even a coyote was reduced to Moooochelle Meals.

How about the converse then? (or would that be inverse?)

Would supply the coyotes with a LOT of meals...
