I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

Nice kitteh today! I made my coffee too sweet. Gack!

It’s 62 degrees. The door is open and there is no breeze. Maybe I will sweep the patio today. The wind keeps blowing debris into the patio and it really looks ugly!

I made an appointment to have the tires rotated on Wednesday at 0800. The tire store is less than a mile from here.

In talking to my son-in-law yesterday, he suggested I get the truck changed over to the cheaper plates and no smog requirements within the next 90 days. It would be a good idea to do it then, as I don’t want to wait too long to get it re-done.

A couple of mornings ago, early, I was on the way to Walmart and saw a dog cross the street about a block ahead of me. Then I realized...with Henderson’s leash laws as strict as they are, that was a coyote! Going home after a night on the hunt, no doubt. The area it was headed to was surprising, as it’s behind a school and the public swimming school.

I’ve seen one of those before, Moosie, and I can’t recall where it was. Maybe at a carnival?

They are Chinese good luck kitties. Seen often in Chinese restaurants and various Chinatowns.

I got mine in Chinatown. The first and only time ive had Peking duck. She was in the window of a typical tourist trap place selling NYC souvenirs. She never brought me any luck that I’m aware of, but she’s a cute conversation starter.

They bite and scratch.
They tear up the furniture.
They hiss and threaten each other without actually fighting.
They scratch everything they can get their claws on.
They don’t let us sleep in on the weekends by stomping on the bed and demanding food.
And they do not cooperate, nor do they obey, even for their own good.

This is different than children how?

I’m surprised that a coyote will eat Moooochelle meal discards.

I would never punish them in a million years.

They respond best to loving kindness, and I truly overlook their foibles and little “errors.”

Midnight slashed me when I was petting him last Friday night. He managed to puncture
not one, but two of the veins on the back of my right hand. I bled like crazy. Saturday night,
he was asleep on my lap again. No fear, and no punishment. He was just a little crazy on Friday.

I don’t know why. And anyway, my first reaction was to get to the bathroom and dab peroxide
on my wounds and then swab them off with 91% IPA. That really helped a lot.

The extremely odd thing is that my wounds were sealed, and one of them was even healed by
Saturday morning. I have two very superficial scratches and one scabbed-over wound.

I love my cats, and I will never terrify them. I don’t find doing that to be particularly amusing.
At all.
Ever.

There are enough feral cats and loose small dogs for the coyotes and the hawks to survive, so I doubt either of them rely on Moooochelle’s meal selection. Since it was early morning (pre-dawn) the coyote was no doubt full of feral cats from the near-by arroyo.

I would like to have one of those “lucky” cats, and also a “lucky” bamboo plant. I’m encouraged to get the latter because I have managed to keep my Norfolk Island pine alive since Christmas!

I’m always impressed by the amount of love you show for your cats. Your devotion to them is admirable, and your understanding of them is amazing. *hug*

What a wonderful place for a cat to find itself...within your four walls! :o])

That’s good. I’d hate to think that even a coyote was reduced to Moooochelle Meals.

In this area, coyotes pretty much don’t have to go far to find food. The fact that it was headed toward the school instead of away from it indicates that it had already dined.

Thank you, dear friend.

I’ve always loved cats, and these four are just my cup of tea. They’re not people or even children.
They’re cats, and they don’t understand being human. They do understand and respond positively
to kindness, gentleness, and love.
