I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

Probably a haphazard pangolin.

It appears to be a polite, well-groomed pangolin, and a good parent as well.

Note the wicked claws. Do not violate the bounds of pangolin propriety with this specimen.

Pangolin can climb trees.

If I were a tree, I would bend over and give the pangolin my fruit.

It does appear to be a good parent. I was going to say “mom” but it might be a dad.

Who knows? The baby is well, I need another word besides cute here. But it is kinda cute. Interesting cute besides adorable cute.

Dealing with pangolins might be a good step toward being able to deal with dragons.

It is the mother pangolin.

Well, I was 99.99 percent sure but it might have been a Grandma pangolin.

Grandma’s are wonderful

Grandma’s are wonderful.

True!

There are some interesting phenomena in the animal kingdom regarding grandparentage. Some of the larger primates, such as gorillas, live in multigenerational groups, and grandchildren of a leader can be more successful than those without the same connections.

Meerkat dominant females, on the other hand, try to prevent their daughters from mating, in order to limit the number of helpless young in the group.

"Here be pangolins?"

Unfortunately no. The Flying Castle Habitats did not include a population of pangolins. This could be regrettable, if my supposition about their being a training group for the development and handling of dragons should prove accurate.

For we have stated our interest in producing dragons.

If I’d known pangolins existed, at the time, I could have brought them instead of goats.

"If I’d known pangolins existed, at the time, I could have brought them instead of goats."

No, goats are more useful. They can be used through transgenics to produce spider silk. I wouldn't want to try milking a pangolin.

Besides, pangolins could never keep the kudzu in check.

True, pangolins don’t eat kudzu. But they could be interbred with other animals for some interesting results. Armor-plated plesiosaur?

The Wiki article says that pangolins are mammals. The keratin armor plating might not fit so well on plesiosaurs.

The article also says that pangolins are the most heavily trafficked animal in the world. I would have thought that was opossums.

Heh, I got that.

... populations have suffered from illegal trafficking due to unfounded beliefs in Asia that their ground-up scales can stimulate lactation or cure cancer or asthma.

It isn’t Anthropogenic Global Warming that threatens Earth’s animal species; it’s human stupidity, gullibility, and facile ethics.

And ignorance. Often we don’t even know about animal species and their survival requirements. That’s one of the things I like about the Envirothon competition: it introduces students to a comprehensive view of ecosystems that emphasizes knowledge of a wide variety factors. It also treats the world as “resources,” so that farming, hunting, and recreation are legitimate aspects of an environmental system.

A DEA Agent stopped at a ranch in Texas and talked to an old rancher. He told the rancher, “I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs.” The rancher said, “okay, but don’t go into that field over there...”, as he pointed out the location. The DEA Agent verbally exploded and said, “look mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me!” Reaching into his rear back pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher. “See this badge?! This badge means I can go wherever I want... On any land! No questions asked, no answers given! Do you understand old man?!”

The rancher kindly nodded, apologized, and went about his chores. Moments later the rancher heard loud screams, he looked up and saw the DEA agent running for his life, being chased by the ranchers big Santa Gertrudis Bull...... With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it was likely that he’d sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified. The old rancher threw down his tools, ran as fast as he could to the fence, and yelled at the top of his lungs......

“YOUR BADGE! SHOW HIM YOUR BADGE!”

I saw this on facebook, you know the place only leftwing nuts use.
