True!

There are some interesting phenomena in the animal kingdom regarding grandparentage. Some of the larger primates, such as gorillas, live in multigenerational groups, and grandchildren of a leader can be more successful than those without the same connections.

Meerkat dominant females, on the other hand, try to prevent their daughters from mating, in order to limit the number of helpless young in the group.
