I just re-joined FR and I would like to post to my local NC state board but I am not able to. How do I get the ability to do that?

Everyone makes boo-boos from time to time. :-)

The wind up here in Apache County is so strong and steady with high speed gusts you need to hand onto something to keep from being blown to Texas or beyond......

Trying to build a house... (sigh!)

It’s been a rough year and a half and I am still not finished. Frustrations abound but I have to remember that He who brought me to it, will bring me through it.

Amen?

A Princeling of the divan, no doubt.

Amen.

Although if the wind were to offer me a free trip to Texas I’d take it.

I would think the same exercise equipment beat both guys for similar reasons, namely, Larry couldn’t convince his brother not to run. Now it looks like Harry is going blind in that eye. I don’t think his wimpy brother could have caused such severe damage, considering the damage to himself.

The pic is probably on The Smoking Gun, but I’m not interested enough to search for it.

Amen!

You will get it all done, and it will be sweeter for the struggle. The biggest thing is not to give up on yourself.

It will all come together when and how it should.

*hugs*

I’ll be headed to the Muffler Shop in about an hour, braving the wind and cold. I’m SOOO hoping that this won’t take too long or cost too much.

Yesterday, I realized that while I have enough in my account to pay for the registration, I don’t have anything in there to pay the penalties. *sigh*

The truck is in the shop. I walked home in the cold wind. And wished I’d had a ride. No one offered, though.

Busdaddy’s truck is ailing, too, but his will cost $4500 to fix...because it’s a diesel.

Sorry about that. It seems whenever I offer a ride to someone they either don’t need it or are afraid of why I’m stopping and won’t accept it. Of course I don’t even try in NYC. If I ever did see only one walker the taxi commission would unleash - well, you know.

Well, it was only a 10 minute walk uphill into the cold wind, but I appreciate the sentiment!

This is a small town, and the odds would be good that if someone offered me a ride, it would be out of the kindness of his/her heart.

Tom and I picked out a used car. We took it up the road to our mechanic. He said the power steering pump was leaking. The dealer will replace it for 3/5 the price he quoted me, so it’s a deal. We can probably get it tomorrow.

It’s more than I planned on paying, but it’s big enough for Tom to sit comfortably, and if we save $1000 in repairs over the next couple of years, I break even.

Check your account. I’m off to the bank to sort out a certified check for the car dealer. And the post office, Harris Teeter, and Walmart. I think I’ll get some wine at the Walmart!

I lost 1.4 this week.

So... you got him one of these ol' land barges?

Back when they made cars that could withstand a 20 MPH impact without being totaled.

I remember seeing one of these turn in front of an oncoming modern sedan back when I lived in Houston. The impact caused the landship to miss the driveway and go into the drainage ditch - then back out of the ditch and into the parking lot. The car sustained a dent in its side. After the accident and exchaning information, the driver of the landship got back in his car and drove off.

The car that hit it deployed airbags and dropped most of its front end on the road. The rest of the front crumpled pretty well. It had to be towed.

What a lovely fairy tale that is! The old land barges were meant to take a beating and just keep right on going. And going.
