I remember seeing one of these turn in front of an oncoming modern sedan back when I lived in Houston. The impact caused the landship to miss the driveway and go into the drainage ditch - then back out of the ditch and into the parking lot. The car sustained a dent in its side. After the accident and exchaning information, the driver of the landship got back in his car and drove off.
The car that hit it deployed airbags and dropped most of its front end on the road. The rest of the front crumpled pretty well. It had to be towed.
