Thanks for posting this. I can’t stand professional football, but the husband was watching on DVR in another room. Usually, I keep an ear tuned, out of curiosity, while the National Anthem is sung.

I called into him to ask why I kept hearing crowd noise. He said that he was not sure. It seemed very strange, but from my location, it did not sound like booing per se.

Great idea. Can’t stand the fact that our National Anthem is often sung by America-hating jerks.

Totally agree....
It should be a “singalong” with the whole crowd so they shut up with the shouts, put their hands over their hearts and get with the program...
This “jazzing up the Anthem” is doo doo...
Case in point: Roseanne Barr-ndoor........

The NFL has disagreed with your expert assessment that he just “reads the rules and plays smart” once already. The fined the team for cheating. But what do they know...they are just a bunch of sore losers, too, huh?

It was despicable that those Seahoser fans booed during our Anthem.

Yep they are, how is it cheating to tape something in public in front of 80,000 people? You Texans are generally smarter than this.

“Or a simpler explaination: there is a systemic culture in the organization that has persisted for a number of years. “

I agree, but the “organization” is the entire NFL.

That person who sings like she is ten cats scraping their claws on a chalkboard. She sounds like a bitter old hag who should be playing the part of all the wicked witches and stepmothers in Disney films. A lot of people adore her voice. Heh

Simple. It is a game. The game has rules. The arbitor of the rules said the act violated the rules.

This is not a Constitutional issue here; stop trying to apply the Bill of Rights.

Texans understand the difference between being in a game and being on the street.

I am getting the feeling you don’t grasp grown up concepts like business. I am about to hit you with some big words, you may want a dictionary handy.

An NFL game is not a public event. It is a franchise sponsored event held in a privately owned facility and governed under the terms of the franchise agreement. Filming rights and use of broadcast are owned explicitly by the NFL. It’s called a Copyright.

Belichick is an employee of a franchisee of the NFL. As such, his actions during franchise sponsored events are governed by the terms of the franchise agreement.

The franchisor, the NFL, gets to tell him what he can and cannot do while at an event. If they say he can’t do it, he will be in violation of his contract. The NFL can choose the remedy for the violation per the franchise agreement.

Let’s see, let’s play a little word game. Violating his contract, breaking a rule, not the same as cheating, see? Is that concept simple enough for you?

I am so glad you brought that up. From the dictionary:

Cheat: to get an unfair advantage, especially in a game.

In the NFL's report, they used the phrase "unfair advantage" in describing the filming practice. So, according to the people who run the game, he cheated.

Maybe you should bring it up with them. They obviously don't understand their game as well as you do.

Tent Dilfer and Steve Young are just two of the super bowl quarterbacks who are on record as calling out the stupidity of those who believe the nonsense of deflate gate. 28 to 0 AFTER the balls were put back to regulation. Four touchdowns and 37 for 50. That ought to shut up anyone with a brain, but noooooooo, the right meme for all those stats is they cheated.
