Wow! What a finish!
The Seattle Offensive Coordinator said they observed the New England defense setting up a pretty substantial run defense at the goal line, so the thought was to make them adjust with a throw so the next play they could use Lynch.
They tried to spread out the NE goal line defense and got caught, literally, by Butler. It happens. The logic is not THAT flawed.
It was wicked pissah!
A very Romoesque play. Gonna be a classic.
Thank you. I thought that may have been what that was. Just wasn’t sure if some other protocol I did not know about had been breached.
Wow, that’s awesome the Americans shunned their silvers.
Bruce Irvin goes into the records books as first player ejected in a Superbowl.
It might have been a good strategy - with more time on the clock he might have looked around more and tossed it away, making them think twice on the NEXT play.
But with only seconds left and no time outs they should have made it clear his objective was to stop the clock with the incomplete pass.
It was dumb bad luck someone jumped in and grabbed the ball
So the sports headline should have read, “Seahawks beat the Seahawks in Superbowl.....”
Ditto that. What she produced was the Star Spangled Bummer.
Some wise sage once said...."Americans don't like music anymore. They like noise."

“It was dumb bad luck someone jumped in and grabbed the ball”
It was a bad call, good throw BUT after watching the rerun of the play over and over again this morning, the receiver saw the hit coming, hesitated and actually short-armed the ball.
The coach deserves all of the scorn that he is receiving, the quarterback none and the receiver deserves some ‘heat’, too.
The coach and the receiver should split the ‘heat’.
I’m just glad Pete Carroll finnaly won a Superbowl for the patriots.
Dja think?
“Dont know what arrogance youre talking about but the fight wasnt cool. Irvin should have walked away instead of retaliating and throwing a punch back. The second one always gets the attention”.
It appeared to me every time Seattle scored, they strutted around to make sure everyone in the stadium knew it. Damn, any team worthy of making it to the superbowl deserves praise. During the regular season, strut all you want. During the superbowl, do a high five and move on. IMHO, Seattle acted tacky and immature.
The two the Patriots lost to the Giants; 17-14 and 21-17 were good ones as well. Of course as a Giants fan since the early 1950s I am a bit biased...
“Don’t act like you’ve never been in the end zone before.”
I certainly do and I bitched about every four years!
As an aside; My son was in the Navy, this was 2002). He calls me up one day:
Excited voice: "Dad, I just watched that game"
Me: "What game?
(ignoring me): ESPN Classics, They just played it. Now I know why you are still mad about it!
Me: What are you talking about?
Him: USA and Russia, Basketball game. I never saw it before.
me: Really?
Him: Now I get it. Hell I am pissed. They stole it from us!
,
If memory serves the official score keeper (from Brazil?) never signed the score card.
He would have died sooner had they lost.
