"Best Superbowl ever was Rams vs. Titans"

Best finish by far, but not the best game. Robert Jones tackling Kevin Dyson 18 inches shy of sending the SB into OT as the clock rolls to 0:00?

Yep. Best finish ever.

I heard there was a big soccer game tonight but I’m watching Lincoln kill zombies on a cheesy SyFy channel movie.

It's called The Super Cup. Or The World Bowl. One of those.

Thanks!

I’ve seen a lot of really boring Superbowl games - at least this wasn’t one of them.

For some reason I took a dislike to Tom Brady and it won’t go away....and meanwhile I love Russell Wilson. Oh well...life will go on. :-)

Eventually the Seahawks could only make it so far on lucky pass plays making up for inferior play. The oddity is just as much that it lasted that long, as that it ended so dramatically.

People are saying ‘ride the horse you rode in on’ ... well, for the last 2 games, the horse they rode was lucky pass plays.

I wonder if Pete, after the Hail Mary 2 point conversion 2 weeks ago, Matthews catching fire, the lucky bounce/catch a few plays before, the gamble just before half time that paid off, was feeling a bit prideful - as if the Passing Gods were on his side - or that he were a passing genius, and he mistook those gods as himself.

Pride goeth ... and all that.

“I turn off the half time crap — my wife watched it AFN I could hear that Perry woman screeching her single note across the house. “Music” doesn’t describe it. More like tomcats fighting over the lone female in heat at 2 in the morning.”

I’ll bet you’re past your prime and your age is showing. It was a great game and the half time show was even clean.

Lot's of folk asking why BB didn't call a timeout to give Brady an opportunity should they score...guess he said something about not wanting to give Seattle time to know exactly what they needed to do/not do on that last critical series...

...Pete(or whoever made "the call")to force one in the middle...made him look like a genius.

....some may not like the guys tactics...but can't argue about his knowledge of the game, or his success.

...wishing the Lions had someone like that...for almost 60 years now.

1 - Seattle thought they won when they went up 24-14 and thereby took their heads out of the game.

2 - New England never gave up; while trailing 24-14 they marched down the field with the Seattle defense as mere spectators.

3 - Doing anything other than giving the ball to Marshawn Lynch on THAT PLAY was pure idiocy.

Well seems to me then you’re saying that the Patriots aren’t that good either since they barely beat us...in fact I think we beat us.

There was luck the other way too....tripping not being called on the Pats, etc.

Music went into the crapper after 1973. Is my age showing? Nah, it’s a purely objective observation.

Worse than Perry was the SSB singer....she really milked the song for face time. About the tempo of a dirge. I had to mute it.

Nah, it’s just age, and age is also a state of mind.

Didn’t Pete Carroll have Reggie Bush on the bench on the game deciding 4th and 1 in the 2005 Rose Bowl at USC?

Indeed it was a great game. Since I had no rooting interest in either team, I was able to watch it just for good, exciting football and the finish was indeed Super...actually living up to the billing.

As for the halftime show, I think it would be a far better event if military bands were invited to play rather than putting the focus on some pop "star". I'd like to see the halftime devoted to pure, traditional Americanism with salutes to our military heroes. In particular, this year would have been a great opportunity to honor Chris Kyle. The venue is perfect because people all around the world (including mooselimbs) watch the Super Bowl and it's a terrific occasion to demonstrate America's military might.

Spectacularly, breathtakingly stupid play call ends it. How sad. But a good game.

Seattle’s last pass was the dumbest call in the history of the NFL.

Seattle was lucky to have been playing in the Super Bowl. Packers monumental collapse was the only reason they were there. It is a all good and proper that they finally lost a game by a boneheaded decision. But this last play was one of many. Brady shredded that vaulted defense and toyed with them. Congratulations to the only football dynasty in the last 14 years.

I don’t know how anyone could be a Seattle fan after the arrogance displayed throughout the game, as well as the fight they started at the end. What a bunch of poor losers!!!!!!!! Seattle sure set a poor example for Americans in general, and especially our youth. I’m glad they lost.

I’m not an ‘us’ guy even though I’m from Boston. I believe the Patriots are the better team this year, and would win 3 of 5 in a series that sanded off the rough edges of random luck plays. 12 or 13 of 20.

And I could be wrong. But I think the Patriots are a consistently better team, and that the Seahawks luck, which made up for their inconsistencies over the past 2 games, ran out.

My post was more about -> what would make Pete and/or staff make a call like that? - he’s obviously no idiot coach. Why would he accept the risk? And my best guess is: he was feeling lucky/cocky in the realm-of-passing ... so his judgment was clouded. But for the risk, and given that Lynch was a marked man, it’s a good choice. ... But only without the risk.
