MOULTRIE, Ga.- A Georgia animal shelter said offers have been pouring in to adopt an unusual dachshund/pit bull mix whose pictures and video quickly went viral.
The Moultrie Colquitt County Humane Society said its Facebook posts about Rami the dachshund/pit bull mix led to a flood of adoption offers.
"If you are looking for a popular/unusual pet, then this is it," the shelter said in a Facebook post, which assured readers that "he is real!!"
There were so many adoption offers for the 1-year-old puppy that the shelter posted a follow-up Facebook message asking interested parties not to overlook other animals in need of homes.
"We appreciate all your interest in our sweet Rami," the post read. "Please remember there are lots of homeless animals in shelters [as] unique as Rami."
Now that's kinda funny to try and envision a Dash under being the sire.
The poor bitch.
Only if by “adorable” you mean hideous.
Gets my vote for comment of the morning.

Midgets beware!
It’ll bite off your face, but look adorable doing so.
See, that’s the problem.
Suppose this mix gives it the jaws of a Pitbull, but the ATTITUDE OF A WEINER DOG.
Death.
Pure death.
If the father was a wiener somebody put him up to it.
“If the father was a wiener somebody put him up to it.”
Bwaaa! Great!
Thanks!
Could you please post a link to the page the pix are on? The site has hotlinking disabled.
It’s a freak of nature. Not adorable at all.
What could possibly go wrong?
Right on the money. Sweetheart cuddler vs aggressive yapper. Dachshunds are poor house pets. They’re not really bred for it, and 90% of dog owners know crapolla about taking care of and training dogs. Most don’t bother to learn anything about the suitability of the breed for their circumstances before getting it.
My daughter has a pit mix (65+ pounds) and a Ridgeback (80 pounds)....she also has a 200 ft deep fenced in yard. As well as an 800 acre park 5 minutes away where they hike a couple days a week. Each dog also gets 30-45 minutes of walking in the neighborhood every night (weather permitting). I admire the time and care the pups get, I don’t know how she does it. They stay with us frequently on weekends and are well trained, well behaved and wonderful to have around. I wish the other 90-95% of dogs owners were like her.
My neighbor (two small kids, both parents work full time) decided the kids needed a dog. Got some little “punter” and the fun began. Dog kept chewing up their house and crapping on the floor. I explained that the dog needed company and exercise. She said, we take him out in the back yard (on the leash) for 15 minutes a day (all barking). I told that the dog need to be walked at least a mile a day or it would continue the chewing and crapping, that it needed training and real attention. I suggested that if they couldn’t do that, the best solution was find it a new home. Took another month before they figured out I was right.
My dog rant for the day.
Who was the @ that docked his ears, at all let alone so aggressively? I’d like to dock their ears.
It does have that cold killer-stare so typical of pit bulls.
