WWE has got to be real, how could they fake it seven nights a week??

Also getting one’s head slammed into a ring post probably doesn’t hurt or leave any side effects!

If the same number of Americans followed sports , were extremely passionate about politics, history, knew their facts, stats in politics like they do sports..., then I have NO DOUBT that our Republic would be in a lot better shape politically speaking.

So if sports are fake, then what are people doing wasting their time?

It’s like the same people that watch TV shows every week, and talk about these shows, possible outcomes, etc..... as if they are REAL... It’s astounding!

“Hard to imagine.”

True.

But do you remember when the NBA draft lottery came out with Cleveland getting the No. 1 pick...so they could draft Lebron James?

I never thought the NBA actually left their ‘lottery’ up to chance that year.

I don’t think it is scripted like pro wrestling but I thin referees make certain calls (ahem pass interference calls magically overturned or completions magically turned into incompletions) that affect the outcome of pro football games. We all know how easy it is to rig NBA games and baseball games. I tend to think the NHL is on the up and up.

I believe a lot of NFL players throw games. The psychopath class.

I'm neither a Raiders or Patriots fan, so I have no skin in the game.

But if that "tuck rule" call that cost Oakland a trip to the Super Bowl wasn't part of a setup, I don't know what is.

Like most football fans, I never heard of it when it was called, and haven't heard if it being called since.

While fixing individual games is always possible, IMO it's alot harder to predetermine an outcome to a season when there're 162 games.

Football is a different story - too few games, too much involvement by the officials in each. In my opinion.

Would you leave a multi-billion dollar business up to chance?

Like the NCAA?

I never thought the NBA actually left their ‘lottery’ up to chance that year.

The Knicks and Lakers are both going to be in the lottery this year, while a truly terrible Timberwolves team, which has NEVER improved its draft position through the lottery in its entire 26-year history, will be there and probably with a poorer record.

I can tell you right now which teams will get picks one and two and which Flyover Country team will get the shaft. Like every year.

If the Packers throw games, they have to fight the referees, which is a real accomplishment.

... while neat geographic tricks like the Patriots 911 and the New Orleans Katrina win happen.

New Orleans won the Super Bowl in 2009 ... 3+ years after Hurricane Katrina. How does that suggest a "fixed" result?

I think it's harder for a player to throw the game in the NFL than in most other sports. The first problem is that there are so many players on the field that it's harder for one player to have a major impact on an entire game. The second problem is that if a player decides to throw a game it would very hard to do without being obvious about it.

Baseball and basketball are the easiest sports to "throw," ... because individuals have a much bigger impact on the game, and because it's easier to tank it while still seeming to try.

If it is I dont want to know about it. I’ve barely been able to watch any NFL since Tebow got black-balled. I never watch the other alphabet soups anyway.

He didn’t get black balled. No teams wanted him. It happens to a lot of players.
