Elaine at the doctor’s (Seinfeld)
Attendant : The doctor will be with you in a moment .
Elaine looking at her chart
Elaine : Difficult ?
Doctor : Elaine . You shouldn’t be reading that . So tell me about this rash
of yours .
Elaine : Well it’s , it’s ..... You know I noticed that somebody wrote in my
chart that I was difficult in January of 92 and I have to tell you that I
remember that appointment exactly . You see this nurse asked me to put a gown
on but it was a mole on my shoulder and I specifically wore a tank top so I
wouldn’t have to put a gown on . You know there made of paper .
Doctor : Well that was a long time ago . How about if I just erase it. Now
about that rash ......
Elaine : But it was in pen . You fake erase .
Doctor : All right Miss Benes . This doesn’t look to serious . You’ll be fine
Is it?
I posted one several hours ago. Got pulled by the mods.
Time Warner has a monopoly in my immediate area...as agreed upon by the local town authorities.
And in that agreement they have a little deal where the channels you get have nothing to do with the package you agreed to.
So you can have certain channels this month, and next month they vanish.
Nobody read the fine script.
And now nobody wants to do anything about it.
So I don’t have cable.
Better off that way.
Did SeeBS ever report on Barack Obama’s non-apology about Lois Lerner at the IRS using this same term for Republicans?
They changed our received channels so often it was ridiculous.
And calling their office went absolutely nowhere.
You are lucky.
According to this article, Comcast gave the customer a refund for the last two years of service and is conducting one of those thorough investigations to determine what happened.
Oh yes that’s a fave scam.
Just because 5 years ago (or more) one time you had the installation fees waived, they then use that as an excuse to bill you anytime they flip a switch to turn something off (or change a service). So you pay in the middle of the month (for the change) and then pay again for the next month’s service, all in one bill.
Total and complete shell game. I’m surprised no one has sued them over it.
” I am just a sweet little ole great grandmother who is nice to everyone. : ).”

I’m only a grandmother but am well aware that you great grandmothers are a force to be reckoned with.
:-)
.
Exact same thing happened to me! I called to shut off service got talked into a “sweet deal” and the next thing I knew was I lost half the channels. Even though I only said I was willing to drop ESPN and HBO! I dropped thise alright along with 20 other channels.
I hate Comcast with the white hot intensity of 10,000 suns. Problem is though all cable providers are the same. I’m seriously considering cutting the cord completely (the only problem with that though is the Internet alone costs almost as much as Internet + a cable package. Just like $20 less of a $100 bill. I might still do it though just out of spite).
A friend of mine was helping the cable guy make his installation and in the process the ladder got hit and my friend fell off the ladder. He was banged up but figured he’d be okay. They never ever got a cable bill for 5 years until they moved.
What part of "we're having financial difficulties" did Comcast not understand?
My parents, teachers and relatives/friends taught us that was the nice thing to do. God does too. My daughter and I went to State’s bowl game in Jacksonville year before last. I got online to find a hotel close to the stadium. I called the number and she gave me the direct line to the hotel. When I told my daughter, she said no one ever did that for her. I just smiled and said it was my clean living and I am just a nice lady! : ). We got a great room overlooking the river. People are nice to you if you are nice to them. It was the first time to take a river taxi. We saw the stadium from our room.

Sounds like a marvelous trip.
I’ve never been to Jacksonville but hear it is quite nice.

“Comcast, customer service is number one!”
Uh, more like number two in this case.
So your friend accepted stolen cable as an implicit bribe in exchange for not ratting out the cable guy who would’ve lost his job for a serious workplace safety violation. Not an easy ethical call as I’m sure he didn’t want his own contributory poor judgment to be the cause of the cable guy’s firing, but the basic facts are pretty clear.
One wonders how many friends of the cable guy got similar deals. As a teenager I had a girlfriend whose father (probably knowingly) was stealing electricity from the power company. He could easily have afforded it.
Gotta love when they do that.
Pretty much!
I cancelled them ... "No problem. It's done."
Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for the next month's service. So, I called them .... "Probably went out before you cancelled (doubt it, it had been 2 weeks) ... don't worry about it."
So, I didn't worry about it. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for the 2nd month's service, along with the 1st month's service, now overdue. Called them .... "Ohhhhhh, OK. We'll just close the account, when you send us a check for what you owe. We show it as (approximately) $3.00". Me: "I don't owe a thing, I cancelled the service before my paid-for month was up. If anything, you owe me!" TWC: "OK, we'll just write everything off. Thanks for your business."
Tired of dealing with them, I said "Fine".
Earlier this week, I received a "final bill" for (approximately) $3.00. Along with a note: (paraphrased) "due immediately. Non-payment will be sent to collections." Grrrrrr.
I paid the bill, because I'm sick of their incompetence. I'm done with them.
As an epilogue ..... I'm in IT, and we're currently evaluating Internet providers. TWC is one of them. How much consideration do you think they'll get? :-) Goes to show, in customer service, you need to be careful of whose toes you trod upon. :-) :-)
