The Sundance Film Festival isnt a typical launchpad for studio blockbusters, but Warner Bros. surprised theater-goers on Tuesday night by unveiling the Wachowski siblings Jupiter Ascending at a secret screening.
The invitation-only event, which was not billed as a premiere, was the first time Jupiter Ascending was shown to the public. Variety broke news of the screening on Tuesday afternoon, but there were other clues the audience wasnt about to see a typical Sundance indie.
When attendees with tickets arrived at the Egyptian Theater in Park City, they were handed 3D glasses.
Despite the hype of a secret screening, clusters of seats inside the 300-person venue remained empty, and a handful of patrons walked out of the two-hour-plus space epic starring Mila Kunis as a princess and Channing Tatum as an intergalactic soldier tasked with rescuing her.

“... does Sean Bean survive to the end of the film?”
If so.. it would be just a few times in his acting career. LOL! Personally, I think he is a good actor.
Bean is awesome. Usually if he is in it, that is a good sign. I remember him from “Sharp’s Rifles” on PBS.
Roger that. The two Matrix sequels were so stinky bad it was hard to believe they were made by the same people who made the original.
Mila looks good in leather at least. What a pretty girl.
For what it’s worth.. I saw an interview with him. His favorite dying scene was Boramir (LOTR). I had to laugh because most actors answer questions about their favorite character vs what dying scene was your favorite.
sounds like he should wear a red shirt....just sayin’
um... booramir blinked
LOL!
Fun with statistics! Not that I ever object to seeing pictures of Sean Bean ... he even looks good when he’s scruffy.
I think he is good, for sure. I liked his British series as a Napoleonic era Brit soldier - good stuff.
That said, his latest series (a bomb) about so-called “Legends” (cover personas and background for spies) was childish in its pretext, woefully concocted, and some rather bad acting by him, IMO.
“... he even looks good when he’s scruffy”.
:)
As a rule, I prefer well-groomed.
Me too but yes... he does have a certain “charisma”.
Yup.
Was he the guy ambushed with a cup of coffee?
Sundance?
Probably not enough gay cowboys eating pudding to keep the audiences attention.
They should have Sean Bean be the chief of security in the 2016 “Star Trek” movie.
